<br /> 11% of respondents used park facilities regularly while 59% were sometime <br /> users and 30% had never used park and recreation facilities. When queried <br /> as to whether the city should provide more leisure programs, the majority <br /> (53%) did not know. Only 27% responded affirmatively while 20% responded <br /> negatively. <br /> In looking at the Law Enforcement function only 48% of respondents had <br /> had any contact with police during the past 12 months. Of those coming in <br /> contact with the police 54% felt that the police were fair and courteous in <br /> their dealings with people while only 7% disagreed. In looking at the <br /> Patrol function, 46% of respondents felt that there was inadequate <br /> neighborhood patroling as compared to 39% who felt that the level of <br /> patroling was about right. 56% felt that the police services provided to <br /> them over the last 12 months were of good quality with 37% perceiving <br /> service of fair quality and only 7% rating police services as poor. <br /> In looking at the City Fire Services, only 1% of respondents had <br /> occasion to actually use city fire services. However, 53% of respondents <br /> gave fire service a good rating and 82% would allow firemen to inspect their <br /> houses to help check for fire hazards. As to enforcement of fire codes, 72% <br /> said they didn't know what was being done on Code enforcement while 6% felt <br /> that there was adequate enforcement and 22% felt that there was inadequate <br /> enforcement. <br /> Trash and Garbage services were generally perceived in a favorable <br /> light with 57% of respondents rating the sanitation service as good at the <br /> same time 41% said that garbage pick up had been missed one or more times in <br /> the past 12 months and 8% saying that pickup was missed three or more times. <br /> -page 4- <br />
