<br /> -4- <br /> Proposition No. 25 <br /> FOR/AGAINST Amend Section 12.12 to provide that the <br /> Charter Review Commission shall meet in <br /> odd-numbered years. <br /> Proposition No. 26 <br /> FOR/AGAINST Amend Section 12.12 to provide that the <br /> Charter may be amended as provided in <br /> Article 1170, Vernon's Annotated Texas <br /> Statutes. <br /> Proposition No. 27 <br /> FOR/AGAINST Delete Section 12.14 which pertains to <br /> the manner of the original adoption of <br /> the charter by the voters and is no <br /> longer necessary. <br /> SECTION 3. That the following propositions to remove <br /> parkland and municipal airport restrictions on the use of certain <br /> City-owned real property shall be submitted to the resident <br /> qualified voters of the City of San Marcos, Texas on said date for <br /> their action thereon: <br /> Proposition No. 28 <br /> FOR/AGAINST Remove the parkland restriction from a <br /> tract of land approximately 14.75 acres <br /> in size, more or less, the same being the <br /> most southern corner or end of a tract of <br /> land approximately 25 acres in size, more <br /> or less, commonly known as the Old Sewer <br /> Treatment Plant property located on the <br /> southeast side of the 1300 block of IH-35 <br /> North near the Department of Public <br /> Safety headquarters for San Marcos, so it <br /> may be sold and/or traded and the <br /> proceeds used only to acquire more <br /> suitable parkland and/or recreation <br /> facilities. Said property is more <br /> particularly described as follows: <br /> BEING A PORTION OF THAT 30.0 ACRE TRACT CONVEYED TO <br /> THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS BY E.S. SUTTON, ET UX, BY <br /> DEED DATED NOVEMBER 3, 1950, AND RECORDED IN VOLUME <br /> 148, PAGE 138, HAYS COUNTY DEED RECORDS, AND BEING <br /> MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS, AS <br /> FOLLOWS, TO-WIT: <br /> BEGINNING, at the South corner of said City of San <br /> Marcos 30.0 acre tract, same being the East corner <br /> of that 12.0 acre tract conveyed to Luis Gil, et <br /> ux, by Lon O. Lester, et ux, by deed dated March 9, <br /> 1950, and recorded in Volume 145, Page 618, Hays <br /> County Deed Records, for the South corner of the <br /> tract herein described; <br /> THENCE, with the Southwest line of said City of San <br /> Marcos 30.0 acre tract and the Northeast line of <br /> said Gil 12.0 acre tract, N45°25'W, 844.90 feet to <br /> a point in the Southeast line of Interstate Highway <br /> No. 35, same being the South corner of that 4.821 <br /> acre tract conveyed to the State of Texas for <br /> highway purposes by the City of San Marcos by deed <br /> dated June 14, 1961, and recorded in Volume 187, <br /> Page 72, Hays County Deed Records, for the West <br /> corner of the tract herein described; <br /> THENCE, leaving said Gil 12.0 acre tract with the <br /> Southeast line of IH-35, same being the Southeast <br /> line of said State of Texas 4.821 acre tract, <br /> N39°20'E, 730.00 feet to a point for the North <br /> corner of the tract herein described; <br />
