<br /> a. the principal building(s) Cir str'LH'::ture ( 5) f .::œ the <br /> USE to which the SIGN pertains must be set back <br /> from the edge of the adjacent street right-of-way <br /> in conformance with the applicable requirement of <br /> the most restrictive ZONING DISTRICT in <br /> which the particular USE is permitted by right, or <br /> in conformance with a previously granted variance <br /> to the required building setback. <br /> b. except for those functioning solely as DIRECTIONAL <br /> SIGNS or located on freestanding service <br /> facilities, the total number of GROUND SIGNS shall <br /> not exceed the total number of vehicular entrances <br /> to a PREMISE, or one per street FRONTAGE, <br /> whichever is greater, and, <br /> c. any GROUND SIGN or portion thereof exceeding 4 <br /> feet in height shall have a setback of at least 10 <br /> feet. <br /> 7. SUBDIVISION IDENTIFICATION SIGNS structurally <br /> classified as GROUND SIGNS and not exceeding 40 square <br /> feet per street entrance to a subdivision may be <br /> displayed, in addition to the maximum allowances <br /> provided in Sec. 4-5, for developments of 5 acres or <br /> more containing individual lots under separate <br /> ownership but related by a common identity. Such SIGNS <br /> may be located in the public right-of-way or on private <br /> property. If located in the right-of-way, the SIGN <br /> shall be subject to the following additional <br /> requirements: <br /> a. the SIGN must be located on a landscaped median; <br /> b. the SIGN may not encroach into the right-of--way of <br /> the intersecting street; <br /> c. the height of the SIGN shall not exceed 3 feet; <br /> d. the SIGN shall be constructed of timber at least 2 <br /> inches thick, masonry, or metal; <br /> e. the size and location of such SIGNS shall be <br /> indicated on the Final Plat of the Subdivision; <br /> and, <br /> f. a written agreement pertaining to ownership and <br /> maintenance shall be entered into with the CITY. <br /> 8. ILLUMINATED SIGNS shall be limited as follows: <br /> a. light sources provided to illuminate any SIGN <br /> shall be positioned or shaded as necessary so that <br /> there is no direct glare onto adjoining <br /> properties, or in the eyes of motorists or <br /> pedestrians; <br /> b. white is the only color of light source permitted <br /> for SIGNS displayed for all noncommercial USES, or <br /> within 100 feet of any residential USE; and, <br /> c. visible BARE BULB ILLUMINATION is prohibited <br /> within 150 feet of any PREMISE containing a <br /> residential USE, and is limited to 25 watts per <br /> bulb provided, hm.lever, that the wattage may be 33 <br /> watts per bulb during daylight hours if the <br /> effective wattage of such bulbs is automatically <br /> reduced to 25 watts per bulb at night. <br /> 9. POLE SIGNS shall be limited as follows: <br /> a. the principal building(s) or structure(s) for the <br /> USE to which the SIGN pertains must be set back <br /> from the edge of the adjacent street right-of-way <br /> in conformance with the applicable requirement of <br /> -15- <br />
