<br /> 19. FACADE: Any separate face of a building, including
<br /> parapet walls and omitted wall lines, or any part of a
<br /> building which encloses or covers usable space. Where
<br /> separate faces are oriented in the same direction, or
<br /> within 45 degrees of one another, they shall be
<br /> considered part of the same FACADE.
<br /> 20. FREESTANDING SERVICE FACILITY: Automatic bank teller
<br /> machine, film/photo finishing outlet, or other similar
<br /> facility located in a freestanding structure devoted
<br /> solely to such USE as an accessory to one or more
<br /> principal buildings.
<br /> 21. FRONTAGE: Either the length of the FACADE or FACADES of
<br /> a building which face the off-street parking area
<br /> serving the building (building FRONTAGE), or the length
<br /> of one or more property lines of a PREMISE abutting a
<br /> public street right-of-way (street FRONTAGE), whichever
<br /> is applicable.
<br /> 22. GROUND SIGN: A SIGN, including its supporting
<br /> structure, 6 feet or less in height which is placed
<br /> upon, or supported by, the ground independent of a
<br /> principal building. SIGNS on accessory structures,
<br /> freestanding service facilities, walls, and fences
<br /> shall be considered GROUND SIGNS.
<br /> 23. HIGHWAY CORRIDOR: All nonpublic land whether consisting
<br /> of whole or parts of lots or tracts of record, which is
<br /> located within 200 feet of either right-of-way line of
<br /> any divided highway having at least 4 lanes where the
<br /> speed limit is at the maximum allowed by law, but not
<br /> including any property which is designated as a
<br /> residential district by the zoning ordinance, or as
<br /> future residential land use in the Extraterritorial
<br /> Jurisdiction by the adopted Master Plan.
<br /> 24. HISTORIC SITE: A site, structure, or building
<br /> designated by the Texas Historical Survey Committee,
<br /> the National Register, the Texas Historical Commission,
<br /> or the CITY of San Marcos as having historical

<br /> 25. IDENTIFICATION SIGN: A SIGN giving any combination of
<br /> the name, nature, address, and recognized symbol or
<br /> logo of a residential, commercial, or industrial
<br /> subdivision, or building or complex of buildings
<br /> containing multiple occupancies, or of any nonprofit,
<br /> civic, religious, educat,ional, or governmental
<br /> institution.
<br /> 26. ILLUMINATED SIGN: A SIGN which is exposed to artificial
<br /> lighting by light sources located on or in the SIGN, or
<br /> specifically directed toward the SIGN.
<br /> 27. MEMORIAL SIGN: A SIGN, tablet, or plaque commemorating
<br /> a PERSON, event, structure, or site.
<br /> 28. MOVING SIGN: A PERMANENT SIGN, other than a permitted
<br /> SWINGING or BANNER SIGN, all or part of which is
<br /> animated, revolves, swings, or otherwise designed to
<br /> move by mechanical means or by the force of the wind.
<br /> 29. MULTIPLE OCCUPANCY: A lot under single or joint
<br /> ownership containing two or more occupancies or USES
<br /> having main entrances directly from the exterior of a
<br /> common building or complex of buildings, and utilizing
<br /> common facilities for access, off-street parking,
<br /> landscaping, signage, etc.
