<br /> 3ü. NAl'1EPLA'l'E SIGN: A SIGN giving only the name and/or
<br /> address of the OWNER or occupant of a building or
<br /> PREMISES on Hhich it is located and, where applicable,
<br /> a professional status.
<br /> 31. NONCONFORMING SIGN: A SIGN which violates one or more
<br /> provisions of this Ordinance or any other requirement
<br /> contained in, or adopted by reference within, the Code
<br /> of Ordinances of the CITY.
<br /> 32. OFF-PREMISE ADVERTISING SIGN: A SIGN which is ERECTED
<br /> outdoors and maintained for a purpose other than to
<br /> specifically serve or relate to the PREMISES on which
<br /> it is located, and which does not refer exclusively to
<br /> the name, location, products, PERSONS, accommodations,
<br /> services, sale, lease, construction, or activities of
<br /> or on the PREMISES where it is ERECTED.
<br /> 33. ON-PREMISE SIGN: Any SIGN the content of which relates
<br /> to the PREMISES on which it is located, referring
<br /> exclusively to the name, location, products, PERSONS,
<br /> accommodations, services, sale, lease, construction, or
<br /> activities of or on the PREMISES where it is ERECTED.
<br /> 34. OWNER: The OWNER of a SIGN, or any PERSON authorized to
<br /> act in their behalf, as applicable.
<br /> 35. PERMANENT SIGN: A SIGN which is designated and intended
<br /> to be anchored to the ground, building, or other
<br /> structure for the duration of the USE of the PREMISES.
<br /> 36. PERSON: An individual, firm, partnership, association,
<br /> corporation, company, organization, agency, or other
<br /> entity.
<br /> 37. POLE SIGN: A SIGN, including its supporting structure,
<br /> and including flags not otherwise exempted, which is
<br /> mounted on one or more free-standing poles or other
<br /> support independent of a building such that the total
<br /> height exceeds 6 feet above grade.
<br /> 38. POLITICAL SIGN: A TEMPORARY SIGN announcing or
<br /> supporting political candidates or issues.
<br /> 39. PORTABLE SIGN: A transportable SIGN of durable
<br /> construction on wheels, skids, legs, or framing,
<br /> including trailers and searchlights used for
<br /> advertising or promotional purposes, which is not
<br /> designed or intended to be permanently affixed to a
<br /> building, other structure, or the ground, but which is
<br /> capable of being so anchored.
<br /> 40. PREMISE: A parcel, tract., or one or more lots under the
<br /> same ownership and USE, together with the buildings and
<br /> structures thereon, located within the jurisdiction of
<br /> this ordinance.
<br /> 41. PROJECTING SIGN: A SIGN, other than a BANNER, which is
<br /> attached to, and is wholly or partially dependant upon,
<br /> a building or building appurtenance for support and
<br /> which projects more than 12 inches beyond the line or
<br /> surface of the building or building appurtenance.
<br /> 42. PUBLIC SERVICE SIGN: A SIGN of a governmental nature
<br /> including public transit and public utility
<br /> information, traffic and parking control, and any other
<br /> SIGN ERECTED and maintained for the public health,
<br /> safety, or information pursuant to and in discharge of
<br /> any governmental functions, or required by law,
<br /> ordinance, or other governmental regulation.
<br /> 43. REAL ESTATE SIGN: A TEMPORARY SIGN pertaining to the
<br /> sale or lease of the lot or tract of land on which the
<br /> SIGN is located, or to the sale or lease of one or more
<br /> structures on the PREMISES,
