<br /> 44. ROOF SiGN: A SIGN which is ERECTED, constructed, and
<br /> maintained wholly upon or over the roof of any
<br /> building, and with the principal support on the roof
<br /> structure.
<br /> 45. SEASONAL SIGN: A TEMPORARY SIGN in the nature of
<br /> decorations clearly incidental to, and customarily
<br /> associated with, any national, state, local, or
<br /> religious holiday.
<br /> 46. SIGHT-TRIANGLE: A triangle, on any PREMISES located at
<br /> the intersection of two streets, formed by measuring a
<br /> distance of 25 feet along both property lines abutting
<br /> the street right-'of-Hay from their intersection and
<br /> connecting the points so established.
<br /> 47. SIGN: Any surface, fabric, device, or display situated
<br /> outdoors, or indoors affixed to a window, or located
<br /> within 12 inches from a window facing the exterior,
<br /> which is used to inform or give direction, or to adver
<br /> tise,or identify an object, PERSON, institution,
<br /> organizat,ion, business, product, service, event, or
<br /> location by any means, including words, letters,
<br /> numbers, symbols, figures, motion, or illumination.
<br /> 48. SIGN AREA: The largest area of SIGN, visible at anyone
<br /> time from anyone point, enclosed by a single
<br /> continuous perimeter including any framing, or trim,
<br /> but not including any structural parts lying outside
<br /> the limits of such SIGN and which does not form an
<br /> integral part of the display. If the SIGN COpy is
<br /> enclosed by a box, outline, or frame, the total area of
<br /> the background is counted as the SIGN AREA. If the
<br /> SIGN consists of individual letters, numbers, or
<br /> symbols only, mounted or painted on a wall, or having
<br /> no background frame, the area shall be measured as the
<br /> sum of the areas of the smallest geometric figures
<br /> which can encompass each portion of the SIGN COPY. The
<br /> SIGN AREA shall be measured on only one side of double-
<br /> faced SIGNS provided that the two faces are parallel to
<br /> each other or are oriented with an interior angle not
<br /> exceeding 60 degrees, and provided the faces are the
<br /> same size and share a common structural support or
<br /> frame. Aggregate SIGN AREA is the cumulative total of
<br /> the SIGN AREA of all SIGNS not otherwise exempted on a
<br /> PREMISES.
<br /> 49. SIGN COpy: The letters, numbers, symbols, or geometric
<br /> shapes, either in permanent or changeable form, on a
<br /> SIGN FACE.
<br /> 50. SIGN FACE: Any surface of one or more SIGNS containing
<br /> SIGN COPY, provided that multiple SIGNS shall be
<br /> considered as a single face only if they are oriented
<br /> in the same direction and share a common structural
<br /> support or frame. Cylindrical or spherical shaped
<br /> SIGNS shall be considered as two faces. Double-faced
<br /> SIGNS, as defined in Sec. 2-1(16), above, shall count
<br /> as a single SIGN.
<br /> 51. SIGN HEIGHT: The vertical distance between the highest
<br /> part of the SIGN or its supporting structure. whichever
<br /> is higher, and either of the following, as applicable:
<br /> a.. in the HIGHWAY CORRIDOR, the elevation of the
<br /> crown of the nearest portion of the highway, other
<br /> than service or access roads, from which the sign
<br /> is intended to be seen; or
<br /> b. in all other locations, the greatest elevation of
<br /> the ground at the base of, or below, the sign.
