SWINGING SIGN: A SIGN, other than a BANNER, which hangs <br /> from a stationary support by hinges or other flexible <br /> connection 50 as to allow movement of the SIGN caused <br /> by t-rind. <br /> 57. TENPORARY SIGN: A SIGN consisting of light materials <br /> such as pennants, streamers, BANNERS not otherwise <br /> defined as a PERMANENT SIGN, balloons, or other similar <br /> display, or any portable or other SIGN which is <br /> designed and intended to be displayed for a limited p <br /> eriod of time only, and which mayor may not be capable <br /> of being anchored to comply with the applicable <br /> structural requirements of the adopted Building Code of <br /> the CITY for PERMANENT SIGNS. <br /> 58. USE: The classification of the purpose or activity for <br /> which land or buildings are designated, arranged, <br /> intended, occupied, or maintained. <br /> 59. VEHICLE SIGN: A SIGN displayed on a currently licensed <br /> automobile, truck, bus, trailer, or other vehicle Hhich <br /> is in operable condition, whereby the primary purpose <br /> of the vehicle is not for the display of SIGNS, the is <br /> incidental to the USE of the vehicle, and the vehicle <br /> is parked in areas appropriate to its normal USE in the <br /> course of business. <br /> 60. WALL SIGN: A SIGN fastened to, or painted on, the <br /> FACADE of a building such that the wall is the <br /> supporting structure for, or forms the background <br /> surface of the SIGN, and which does not project more <br /> than 12 inches from the wall. <br /> 61. WINDOW SIGN: A PERMANENT SIGN that is applied or <br /> attached to a window, or located within 12 inches from <br /> a window in such a manner behind a window that it is <br /> intended to be seen from the exterior, and Hhich <br /> occupies no more than 25 percent of the total area of <br /> the window in which it is displayed. SIGNS exceeding 25 <br /> percent of the window area are regulated as WALL SIGNS. <br /> 62. ZONING DISTRICT: An area classified and regulated by <br /> the adopted Zoning Ordinance of the CITY. <br /> -6- <br />
