2 Special Meeting May 5, 1986 Page 2 Mayor Younger introduced for consideration adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as follows: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS ADOPTING ABANDONMENT POLICIES AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Ms. Kissler moved for adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Guerra se- conded the motion. Mayor Younger moved to amend the Resolution to add the following to PART 1: "5. That the abandonment proponent has paid all fees and expenses associated with the abandonment request, " and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mr. Coddington moved to amend PART 1. 4. to delete "predictablell, and Mayor Younger seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Council then voted unanimously for adoption of the Resolution. Mayor Younger introduced for consideration adoption of an Ordinance on emergency, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ABANDONING AND VACATING A PORTION OF A FIFTEEN FOOT (15') WIDE ALLEY IN THE W. A. THOMPSON'S ADDITION TO THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS AND AN ALLEY IN THE ROSE HILL ADDITION TO THE CITY OF SAN MARCO S , TEXAS; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF SAID CITY TO EXECUTE A SPECIAL WARRANTY DEED; REFLECTING PAYMENT OF THE FAIR MARKET VALUE OF $915.00¡ PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF FEE IN SAID LAND; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. Mr. Coddington moved for adoption of the Ordinance on emergency and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion. Mr. Coddington pointed out he thought the appraised value of 5.7 cents is too low. On roll call the following vote was recorded: AYE: Brown, Younger, Guerra, Nicola. NAY: None. ABSTAIN: Coddington, Farr, Kissler. Mayor Younger introduced for consideration adoption of a Resolution, approving the abandonment and release of a sewerline easement and temporary construction easement previously granted to the City on, over and across a portion of that property located in the vicinity of Aquarena Springs in exchange for a new sewerline easement and temporary construction easement on, over and across another portion of said property; authorizing the Mayor to execute the instrument evidencing said abandonment and release. The Staff advised the Council the matter needed to be tabled and Mr. Brown moved to table consideration until Monday, May 12, 1986 and !-1r. Nicola seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Younger introduced for consideration adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as follows: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE PURCHASE BY SAID CITY OF REAL PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE J. M. VERAMENDI LEAGUE NUMBER TWO (2) IN SAN MARCOS, HAYS COUNTY, TEXAS, AND BEING LOCATED IN THE VICINITY OF POST ROAD; AND DECLAR- ING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
