<br /> -3- <br /> 3.2 PHASE 1 - PRELIMINARY <br /> 3.2.1 Attend conferences with the OWNER and other interested <br /> parties regarding the PROJECT. <br /> 3.2.2 Inspect and eval uate existing facilities, gather and <br /> review existing data. <br /> 3.2.3 Develop a prelimlnary design for proposed improvements <br /> of the PROJECT with sketches necessary to describe the proposed <br /> improvements in their approximate locations for the OWNER's approval. <br /> 3.2.4 prepare a statement of the CONSULTANT's opinion of <br /> construction costs based upon the preliminary designs developed. The <br /> CONSULTANT's opinion of the construction cost will be based upon prices <br /> available at the time of preparation, without consideration of any <br /> inflationary increase in costs. The CONSULTANT will not be required to <br /> guarantee the accuracy of the estimates. <br /> 3.2.5 If required, establish the scope of needed land field <br /> survey information~ and when authorized by the OWNER, to arrange for <br /> such work to be done for the OWNER's account, as set forth in Article <br /> 5, Paragraph 5.3. <br /> 3.3 PHASE 2 - DESIGN <br /> Upon receipt of the OWNER's written authorization to implement <br /> Phase 2 and to proceed with final design and preparation of contract <br /> drawing sand specifications, the CONSULTANT shall: <br /> 3.3.1 Establish the scope and advise the OWNER of any soil and <br /> foundations investigatlon, or of any other special surveys and tests, <br /> which in the opinion of the CONSULTANT may be required for design: and <br /> when authorized by the OWNER, arrange for such work to be done for the <br /> OWNER's account, as set forth in Article 5, Paragraph 5.3. <br /> 3.3.2 Furnish to the OWNER, where required by the <br /> circumstances of the assignment, the engineering data necessary for <br /> applications for routine permits required by local, state, and Federal <br /> authorities. <br /> 3.3.3 prepare detailed contract drawings on drafting vellum or <br /> mylar film, and/or photographic reproducible mylar film, and prepare <br /> the specifications and contract documents for construction of the <br /> PROJ ECT. <br /> 3.3.4 Whenever preparation of detailed plans is approximately <br /> 60% complete, the CONSULTANT shall: <br /> (a) Furnish three ( 3) copies of all contract drawing s and <br /> contract documents and specifications to the OWNER, and two <br /> (2) copies of all contract drawings to the Federal Aviation <br /> Administration for preliminary review and comments; <br />
