<br /> 81 <br />Regular Meeting June 9, 1986 Page 7 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE FUTURE LAND USE PLAN (MAP) <br /> OF THE MASTER PLAN OF SAID CITY, FOR 0.581 ACRES OF <br /> LAND OUT OF THE J. M. VERAMENDI LEAGUE NO. 1, CITY OF <br /> SAN MARCOS, HAYS COUNTY, TEXAS, BEING A PORTION OF <br /> THAT TRACT OF LAND CONVEYED TO J. GARLAND WARREN BY <br /> ALEX G. TIJERINA BY DEED DATED JULY 22, 1969 AND RE- <br /> CORDED IN VOLUME 232, PAGE 17, HAYS COUNTY DEED RECORDS, <br /> LOCATED ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE 1600 BLOCK OF AQUARENA <br /> SPRINGS DRIVE, FROM HIGH DENSITY RESIDENTIAL TO COMMER- <br /> CIAL; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />Mayor Younger opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished <br />to speak in favor or in opposition to the land use amendment. Patsy <br />Greiner was present representing the owner of the property, Garland <br />Warren, to answer questions of the Council. No one else wished to <br />speak in favor or in opposition to the change. Mr. Coddington moved <br />for adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Younger introduced for consideration adoption of an Ordinance <br />on emergency, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, CALLING A BOND ELECTION TO BE HELD <br /> WITHIN SAID CITY; MAKING PROVISION FOR THE CONDUCT <br /> OF THE ELECTION; CONTAINING OTHER PROVISIONS INCIDENT <br /> AND RELATED TO THE PURPOSE OF THIS ORDINANCE; AND DE- <br /> CLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />Mr. Coddington moved for adoption of the Ordinance and Ms. Kissler <br />seconded the motion. Mayor Younger asked if the citizens could be <br />given a selection of the type of Electric Board they wanted to run <br />the electrical system, and Risk Fisher advised Mayor Younger it could <br />not be done on a Bond Election ballot on a date not prescribed by State <br />law for holding elections. John Davidson advised the Council the nego- <br />tiating team had in fact worked out a successful negotiation for the pur- <br />chase of LCRA, and that it was a fair and reasonable price with a minimal <br />rate impact. At the request of Mr. Gonzalez, Mr. Coddington moved to <br />table the adoption of the Ordinance until 9:30 p.m. and Mr. Farr second- <br />ed the motion, which passed unanimously (Mr. Gonzalez was in the process <br />on calling Mr. Fred Saffer to ascertain the purchase amount that need- <br />ed to be inserted in the Election Ordinance). <br />Mayor Younger introduced for consideration adoption of an Ordinance <br />on emergency, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS AMENDING ORDINANCE 1985-89 ADOPTED <br /> SEPTEMBER 10, 1985 WHICH SET FORTH AN ITEMIZED <br /> ESTIMATE OF THE EXPENSE OF CONDUCTING EACH ADMINI- <br /> STRATIVE UNIT OF THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT OF SAID <br /> CITY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 1985 <br /> AND ENDING ON SEPTEMBER 30, 1986, AND APPROPRIATED <br /> MONEY FOR THE VARIOUS FUNDS AND PURPOSES OF SUCH <br /> ESTIMATE, TO REVISE SAID ESTIJ'l1ATES AND TO REAPPRO- <br /> PRIATE SAID FUNDS, ADOPTING SAID REVISIONS AND ESTIM- <br /> ATES, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />Mr. Farr moved for adoption of the Ordinance on emergency and Mayor <br />Younger seconded the motion.
