37
Regular Meeting August 11, 1986 Page 8
Mayor Younger opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished
to speak in favor or in opposition to the amendment. No one did,
so Mayor Younger closed the public hearing. Mr. Guerra moved for
adoption of the Resolution and Ms. Kissler seconded the motion,
which passed unanimously.
Mayor Younger introduced a public hearing to consider the appeal of
Richard Delgado from the Zoning Commission's decision of July 1, 1986
to extend a specific use permit only to December 31, 1986 for a mobile
home located at 233 Fredricksburg. Mayor Younger opened the public
hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak in favor or in opposition
to the appeal. Richard Delgado who resides on this property stated he
had no place to move the mobile home, which has to be moved because
the property is zoned Commercial. Mr. Delgado stated it would be too
expensive for him to move the mobile home by December 31, 1986, as he
has been unemployed for a period of time and there would be costs asso-
ciated with the move he is not prepared to expend at this time. He
requested the Council consider granting him a specific use permit for
twelve months (from July 1, 1986) rather than six months as granted by
the Zoning Commission. Mr. Guerra stated he thought the twelve-month
extension would be reasonable. No one else wished to speak in favor
or in opposition to the appeal, so Mayor Younger closed the public
hearing. Mr. Farr moved to grant the specific use permit for twelve
months, beginning July 1, 1986, and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion,
which passed unanimously.
Mayor Younger introduced for consideration a public hearing to consider
the application of P & P Enterprises (Patricia Nordyke and Patrick
Booth) for a certificate to operate a taxicab service in the City of
San Marcos, Texas. Mayor Younger opened the public hearing and asked
if anyone wished to speak in favor of the application. Patricia Nor-
dyke stated she would like to bring a professional taxicab service to
the City of San Marcos. She stated they would operate two cars initially
and hoped to add an additional two within a few months. She said they
would keep the name of City Taxi and would continue the operation out
of the present City Taxi location, 117 E. Hutchison. Patrick Booth
stated he would like to see some amendments to the City's Taxicab Ordin-
ance in the future. No one else wished to speak in favor or in opposition
to the application, so Mayor Younger closed the public hearing. Mr.
Guerra moved to approve the application of P & P Enterprises for a certi-
ficate to operate a taxicab service in San Marcos and Mr. Farr seconded
the motion. On roll call the following vote was recorded:
AYE: Brown, Coddington, Farr, Guerra, Kissler, Nicola.
NAY: None.
ABSTAIN: Younger.
Mayor Younger introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance
on first reading, the caption which was read as follows:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 29-123 OF THE SAN
MARCOS CODE OF ORDINANCES BY ADDING TWO NO PARKING
ZONES ON HOLLAND, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
Mr. Guerra moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and
Mr. Brown seconded the motion, which passed unanimously (Ms. Kissler
not present to vote on this item).
