<br /> F <br /> CONTRACT FOR <br /> ENGINEERING SERVICES <br /> STATE OF TEXAS <br /> COUN'IY OF HAYS <br /> This contract entered into this 5 day of March ,1985, by <br /> and between the CI'IY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, hereinafter called the City, <br /> and FREESE AND NICHOLS, INC., of Austin, Texas, Registered Professional <br /> Engineers, hereinafter called the Engineer. <br /> Witnesseth, that in consideration of the covenants and agreements <br /> herein contained, the parties hereto do mutually agree as follows: <br /> A. Employment of Engineer. The CMner hereby employs the Engineer <br /> and the EnçJineer agrees to perform professional engineering services <br /> hereinafter set forth in connection with the Preliminary Phase of <br /> improverÅ“nts and rehab il ita tion to the Sessom Drive/University <br /> Drive sewer Rehabilitation Project. <br /> B. Character and Extent of Services By Engineer. The Engineer <br /> shall render engineering services which include the following: <br /> 1. Preliminary Phase of Project. <br /> a. Eng ineer will review results of the sewer <br /> inspection company study with the company to <br /> interpret data. <br /> b. Engineer will coordinate with the San l\1arcos <br /> City Planning Department to identify service areas and <br /> determine approximate sewer flows in the project area. <br /> c. Engineer will determine the capacity of all sewer <br /> line segments from L.B.J. to the Main Lift Station. <br /> d. Engineer will calculate existing flows into the <br /> project study sewer line at approx ima te 1 y three <br /> thousand (3,000) foot intervals. <br /> e. Engineer will determine the feasibility of slip- <br /> lining the Sessoms Drive sewer line. <br /> f. Engineer will investigate the need for the <br /> rehabilitation of manholes in the project area. <br /> g. Engineer will identify problem areas in the project <br /> area sewer line and recormÅ“nd rehab il ita tion <br /> alternatives to the City. <br /> h. Engineer will provide a letter report at the <br /> conclusion of the preliminary phase of the project <br />
