Highway No. 621 and <br /> crossing the Smith tract S43°40'1611W 1734.40 <br /> feet to an 1/211 iron rod set in the common <br /> line of the Smith tract and that tract <br /> described as 58.94 acres in a partition deed <br /> of the estate of Mrs. Carrie Crawford dated <br /> December 23, 1944 and recorded in Volume 131, <br /> Page 195 of the Hays County Deed Records, for <br /> the south corner of this tract, pass at <br /> approximately 1707' an overhead power <br /> transmission line; <br /> THENCE with the common line of the Smith tract <br /> and the Crawford partition 58.94 acre tract <br /> N40o18'0711W 507.16 feet to an 3/4" iron pipe <br /> found for the west corner of the Smith tract, <br /> the north corner of the Crawford partition <br /> tract, the south corner of the San Marcos <br /> Consolidated Independent School District <br /> tract, and the west corner of this tract, pass <br /> at approximately 10' an overhead power <br /> transmission line; <br /> THENCE leaving the Crawford partition tract <br /> with the common line of the Smith tract and <br /> the San Marcos Consolidated Independent School <br /> District tract the following 4 courses; <br /> 1. N44°26'54I1E 323.73 feet to an 3/411 <br /> iron pipe found for an angle point, <br /> 2. N37°46'34I1E 204.54 feet to an 3/411 <br /> iron pipe found for an angle point, <br /> 3. N45°02'56I1E 471.11 feet to an 1/211 <br /> iron rod set for an angle point, and <br /> 4. N44°28'511lE 767.04 feet to the PLACE <br /> OF BEGINNING. <br /> There are contained within these metes and <br /> bounds 20.48 acres of land, more or less, as <br /> surveyed October 23, 1984, by Byrn and <br /> Associates of San Marcos, Texas; <br /> and, <br /> WHEREAS, an on-site public hearing has not been requested in <br /> writing by more than 20 adults residing in said area; and, <br /> WHEREAS, notices of said public hearings were published in <br /> the San Marcos Daily Record, a newspaper having general <br /> circulation in said City and in the territory proposeo for <br /> annexation, September 11 , 1985, and ~_ê.~J2.t~I1l1?~~~_"1?_L19 ~ 5 , <br /> said dates being not more than twenty (20) days nor less than ten <br /> (10) days prior to the hearings for which notices were given; and, <br /> WHEREAS, prior to the publication of notices of said <br /> hearings, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, <br /> directed preparation of a service plan that provides for the <br /> extension of municipal services to said area proposed for <br /> ann~xation; and, <br /> WHEREAS, said proposed service plan was made available for <br /> inspection and explained to the inhabitants of the area to be <br /> annexed at said public hearings: and, <br /> WHEREAS, said 20.48 acres, more or less, are located within <br /> the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of San Marcos, <br /> Texas, and not within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of any <br /> other city; and, <br />
