<br /> 3.3.5 Furnish the OWNER five (5) copies of final and approved <br /> contract drawings and specifications. Additional copies will be <br /> provi ded, as requested by the City, at CONSULTANT'S cost of <br /> reproduction, shipping and incidental expense. <br /> 3.3.6 Prepare a detailed statement of the CONSULTANT'S <br /> opinion of the construction costs based upon the final design <br /> developed. The CONSULTANT'S opinion of construction costs will be <br /> based on materials and labor prices prevailing at the time of <br /> preparation. The CONSULTANT will not be required to guarantee the <br /> accuracy of the cost estimates. <br /> 3.4 PHASE 3 - GENERAL ADMINISTRATION OF CONSTRUCTION. <br /> Upon approval by the OWNER, and the Federal Aviation <br /> Administration of the construction plans, specifications and contract <br /> documents, Phase 3 of this agreement will commence; and in accordance <br /> with the provisions of Article 7, paragraph 7.1.1, the CONSULTANT <br /> sha 11 perform engineering services for General Administration of <br /> Construction as follows: <br /> 3.4.1 Assist the OWNER in the advertisement of the PROJECT <br /> for bids. <br /> 3.4.2 Assist the OWNER in the opening of and the tabulation <br /> of bids for construction of the PROJECT and consult with the OWNER as <br /> to the proper action to be taken, based on the engineering considera- <br /> tions involved. <br /> 3.4.3 Assist OWNER'S attorney in the preparation of formal <br /> construction Contract Documents. <br /> 3.4.5 Make periodic visits to the site of the construction <br /> work to observe the progress of the construction work and to deter- <br /> mine, in general, if the results of the construction work are in <br /> accordance with the drawings and specifications. In performing the <br /> above descri bed servi ces, the CONSULTANT and CONSULTANT'S assi gns wi 11 <br /> endeavor to guard the OWNER against apparent defects and deficiencies <br /> in the permanent work constructed by the contractor, but the CONSUL- <br /> TANT does not guarantee the performance of the contractor. The CON- <br /> SULTANT and the CONSULTANT'S assigns are not responsible for construc- <br /> tion means, methods, techniques, sequences or procedures, time of <br /> performance, programs, or for any safety precautions in connection <br /> with the construction work. The CONSULTANT is not responsible for the <br /> contractor's failure to execute the work in accordance with the con- <br /> struction contract. <br /> 3.4.6 Consult and advise with the OWNER; issue a 11 instruc- <br /> tions to the contractor requested by the OWNER; and prepare routine <br /> change orders as required. <br />
