It is a 1 so anticipated
that the study will satisfy a genuine need in providing guidance in
development of appropriate facilities on an incremental basis, with
economic prudency.
II 1. APPROACH
The Task Descriptions found on the following pages describe the
intended approach to satisfy the objectives previously stated. The
work will be conducted in full compliance with all applicable cri-
teria, including FAA Advisory Circular 150/5070-6.
It is anticipated that approximately five months will be required
from Notice to Proceed to delivery of the draft final report.
TASK DESCRIPTIONS
Task 1 - Inventory and Review of Pertinent Documents
This task will consist of a review of existing pertinent
documents, including previous planning studies, and collectiQn of
additional data essential to achieving the objectives of the Study.
Data collecton will be comprehensive in scope, but every effort will
be made to avoid the collection of superfluous or unnecessary informa-
tion. Information sources will include the Federal Aviation Adminis-
tration, the Texas Aeronautics Commission, the appropriate state,
county and city offi ces, the universities in the a rea, and othe r
sources as required. The inventory and survey will be designed to produce
sufficient information to develop primary judgments relative to fu-
ture airport development. No soil borings or subsurface investi-
gations wi 11 be taken as a part of this study, but concurrent soil
studies done in connection with other airport projects will be con-
sidered.
Basic demographic data will be collected for the San Marcos
area, including population, land use, economic and socio-economic
information.
