<br /> MBE Program <br /> Page 7 <br /> (4) Efforts to divide work into areas which MBE's are <br /> capable of performing <br /> (5) Efforts to negotiate with MBE's for specific sub-bids, <br /> including a minimum of: <br /> (a) names, addresses and telephone number of MBE's <br /> contacted; <br /> (b) description of information given to MBE's regarding <br /> the plans and specifications for the assigned work; and, <br /> (c) a statement of why additional agreements were not <br /> made with MBE's. <br /> (6) Reasons for rejecting an MBE which has been contacted <br /> ( 7) Effort to assist a MBE in overcoming financing, bonding <br /> or insurance requirements relevant to the sub-contract. <br /> If the bidder is determined to have made a sufficient, reasonable effort <br /> he/she will be awarded the contract. If he/she has not shown a <br /> sufficient reasonable effort, the bidder will be rejected, and the <br /> bidder with the next highest MBE credit will be reviewed. The process <br /> will continue until a bidder meeting both requirements lS found. <br /> Under no circumstances will a contract be awarded to a bidder who has <br /> not shown a sufficient, reasonable effort, regardless of bid price. <br /> The following chart illustrates the process (see Chart 1).
