Regular Meeting August 21. 2007 Page 8 Mayor Narvaiz introduced a public hearing regarding an Annexation, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ANNEXING TO THE CITY A TRACT OF LAND CONTAINING 5.816 ACRES, MORE OR LESS, LOCATED IN THE 1800 BLOCK OF POST ROAD (POST ROAD VILLAS); APPROVING A SERVICE PLAN FOR THIS TRACT; AND INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS. Mayor Narvaiz opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. No one did, so Mayor Narvaiz closed the public hearing. Mayor Narvaiz introduced a public hearing and consideration approval of an Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 3.1.1.3 OF THE SAN MARCOS LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE BY ADDING AN APPENDIX TO THE SAN MARCOS HORIZONS CITY MASTER PLAN, THE CAMPUS EDGE STRATEGIC PLAN; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mayor Narvaiz opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. No one did, so Mayor Narvaiz closed the public hearing. Mr. Bose moved for approval of Ordinance on first reading, and Ms. Couch seconded the motion. Ms. Robertson inquired to whether the Campus Edge Strategic Plan is a part of the University Master Plan. Chance Sparks, Planning and Development Department, stated he has not received anything from the University indicating our Campus Edge Strategic Plan is in their Master Plan. Ms. Robertson stated she is concern that the City will have to follow this plan, but the University will not have to follow our Plan. Mr. Thomaides stated this Plan indicates that the enrollment is at 30,000, which mean that the University facilities should accommodate no more than 30,000 students.
