<br /> 79 <br /> Regular Meeting June 24, 1985 Page 5 <br /> the necessity exists for adoption of the Ordinance on emergency so that <br /> it may be in effect prior to the July 4th holiday since it contains <br /> provisions regulating fireworks. The Council then voted unanimously <br /> for adoption of the Ordinance on emergency. <br /> Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of three Ordi- <br /> nances on second reading and adoption of one Ordinance on third and <br /> final reading on consensus. Mayor Craddock requested that one Ordi- <br /> nance (Item 8B) on third and final reading be considered separately. <br /> Mr. Farr requested that one Ordinance (Item 8A[2]) on second reading <br /> be considered separately. Mayor Craddock moved for approval of two <br /> Ordinances on second reading and Mr. Farr seconded the motion, which <br /> passed unanimously. The captions of these Ordinances read as follows: <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE <br /> WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF <br /> BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED JUNE 13, 1984 <br /> (VOL. 66) BY ZONING 31.40 ACRES, MORE OR LESS, OF LAND <br /> AREA IN THE ROBERT CLEVER SURVEY, A-92, IN HAYS COUNTY, <br /> TEXAS, BEING A PORTION OF THAT TRACT OF LAND DESCRIBED <br /> IN A DEED FROM ORIN A. HARRYMAN, ET UX, TO C.C. <br /> HUGHSON DATED NOVEMBER 3, 1950 AND RECORDED IN VOLUME <br /> 148, PAGE 139, OF THE HAYS COUNTY DEED RECORDS LOCATED IN <br /> THE VICINITY OF AND ADJACENT TO HUGHSON HEIGHTS ADDI- <br /> TION NO. 1 AND TANGLEWOOD ADDITION NO. 1 FROM "PD" <br /> (PRE-DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT) TO "R-l" (SINGLE-FAMILY <br /> DWELLING DISTRICT) AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 21 OF THE SAN MARCOS <br /> CODE OF ORDINANCES BY REPEALING THE CURRENT SECTION <br /> 21-39 COMPENSATION; ADDING A NEW SECTION 21-39 WHICH <br /> PROVIDES FOR NEW RATES FOR SPECIAL ASSIGNMENT SER- <br /> VICES; ADDING A PROVISION FOR PROSECUTION FOR NON- <br /> PAYMENT OF FEES¡ AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> Mayor Craddock introduced one of the Ordinances removed from the <br /> consensus agenda for approval on second reading, the caption of <br /> which was read as follows: <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 2-31 OF THE SAN MARCOS <br /> CODE OF ORDINANCES BY ADDING ONE CORPORAL POSITION <br /> AND ONE SERGEANT POSITION TO THE SAN MARCOS POLICE <br /> DEPARTMENT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> Mr. Guerra moved for approval of the Ordinance on second reading <br /> and Mr. Coddington seconded the motion. Mr. Farr moved to amend <br /> Section 1 of the Ordinance to insert the words "effective April 1, <br /> 1985" after the words "San Marcos Police Department" and prior <br /> to the words "and shall read as follows", and Mr. Guerra seconded <br /> the motion, which passed unanimously. On roll call the Council <br /> voted unanimously to approve the Ordinance on second reading. <br /> Mayor Craddock introduced one of the Ordinances removed from the con- <br /> sensus agenda for adoption on third and final reading, the caption <br /> of which was read as follows: <br />
