1.1.6 Engmeer will perfonn all of its services in coordmation wIth the CIty. The Engineer will I advise the CIty of data and infonnatlOn the Engineer needs to perform its servIces and the Engineer will meet with CIty representatives at mutually convenient tunes to assemble this data and mfonnatlOn. 1.2 TASK 1 - PRELIMINARY DESIGN The Engineer will: 1.2.1 Assemble a Project team comprised of the City's representatives and the Engineer's representatives. The Engmeer will meet with the ProJect team to set the design and production schedule and parameters for all subsequent work, to venfy the components wIthin which all ProJect particIpants must perform, and to identify all parties and significant deadlines involved in the comprehensive schedule strategy. Based on this mfonnation, the Engmeer wIll prepare a detailed schedule of Its work for the Project addressing each component of the work to be done, indicating the points of involvement of all project partIcIpants. The Engineer will conduct progress meetmgs between the Project team and the Contractor once the construction contract is executed. 1.2.2 Assist the CIty m connectIOn wIth the City's responsibIlIty for fihng documents required for the approval of governmental authonties having junsdlction over the Project. 1.2.3 Identify pennits that are required from appropriate regulatory agencies in order to construct the ProJect. The Engmeer wIll contact those regulatory agencies that may have penmtting junsdiction including the Edwards Aquifer Authority ("EAA"), Hays County, and the Texas Commission on Environmental QualIty ("TCEQ"). In addItIOn, the Engineer will confinn with Hays County whether it IS required that Quail Run be bored across or whether the reqUIrement will be to open cut Quail Run WIth the new waterline. NeIther party to this Agreement anticipates that the EAA will require special pennitting, however, the Engineer will notify the City of any special penmtting reqUIrements that apply to thIS Project. The Engineer WIll also notify TCEQ of the Project in accordance WIth T AC, Chapter 290 to detennine whether or not a revIew of the construction documents is required. 1.2.4 Coordinate with the City's consultant to verify whether the proposed water lme should be an eight inch line or larger sIze lme. The City will enter mto a separate contract with a consultant to complete this analysis. The City's consultant will also revIew the booster pumping capacity at the Oak Ridge pump statIOn. In the event that booster pump improvements are reqUIred, the Engineer will complete a visual survey of the existing system and prepare a scope of services for additIOnal services to cover design. 1.2.5 Prepare an alignment study that will examine the proposed Project alignment and will identIfy Issues that Impact the constructability of the Project. The primary issues of concern mclude existing power line locations and locatIOn of any significant trees (to be deCIded by the CEC - Quail Run Waterlme Agreement 2 I I
