5. What is CTEC's policy toward unions?
CTEC believes the most productive atmosphere -- and the one most
beneficial to both employees and the company -- is one built on
respect for the individual, trust and cooperation to achieve a
common goal. CTEC will introduce a new innovative positive
employee management philosophy and style into its operations at
all levels that elevates the importance of each individual as a
member of the plant team. This approach involves extensive
employee participation and allows for considerable discussion,
from both employees and management, about what the company must
do to be successful. This approach also provides substantial
opportunity for employees at all levels to make contributions
to the strategies which they believe will enable them to perform
their jobs better and thus help CTEC succeed. This philosophy
will be called a "Team Plant" philosophy. Experience has demon-
strated that employees working in organizations with such a high
degree of employee participation and open communication do ~ot
choose to have a union represent them.
6. What hazardous or toxic materials will CTEC use, and how will
it handle them?
First, the CTEC facility will be a non-smoking operation throughout.
Company policy also will not allow alcoholic beverages or illegal
drugs on the premises. The regulated materials CTEC will use are
primarily solvents, resins, to hold together and strengthen the
composite fiber materials from which CTEC will manufacture light-
weight jet engine components. As the facility grows, we may in
the future, install an on-site gasoline pump, which would also be
subject to regulation. The building design includes the most
up-to-date facilities for storing regulated materials. In addi-
tion, CTEC will employ consultants and eventually full-time
professionals who specialize in environmental affairs and
industrial hygiene. In addition tq working with all appropriate
regulatory agencies, CTEC's environmental staff will be involved
with on-going employee training on the nature and safe use of
regulated materials. To transport and dispose of these materials,
CTEC will hire government-licensed companies which specialize in
handling regulated materials. Their role will be to package
materials in government-approved fashion and transport these to
government-licensed disposal facilities. This is a process
which requires extensive supervision by and reporting to appro-
priate government agencies. CTEC intends to meet all reporting
requirements.
7. Will CTEC make available to city government or interested
parties the results of in-house studies?
There are substantial reporting requirements covering a broad
range of subjects for all levels of government. CTEC intends to
