G. Develop Conceptual Alternatives
The Engineer will:
1. Incorporate the results of the data evaluation, traffic modeling, ROW constraints, and
surveying to develop a geometric conceptual schematic design for the technically feasible
alternative.
2. Ensure that the Conceptual Alternative includes typical sections, preliminary horizontal
and vertical layouts, lane configurations, major drainage structures, and other preliminary
design elements necessary to describe the technically feasible alternative for the
proposed improvements.
3. Submit preliminary ROW and easement requirements for review and approval by the
City.
4. Submit a conceptual Engineer's Estimate of Probable Construction Cost for the
technically feasible alternative.
H. Preliminary Engineering Report (PER)
The Engineer will:
Prepare a PER summarizing the major tasks of this Project. The PER will include:
a) Project Area Definition;
b) Evaluation of Existing Conditions;
c) Design Requirements for Improvements; and
d) Alternative Concepts including Cost Estimate, and Recommendations for
Implementation.
I. Proiect Management
The Engineer will:
1. Perform general project management during the course of the Project to include
coordination with the City, preparing invoices, and management of subconsultants.
2. Prepare project correspondence including reports, record keeping, and letters as necessary.
3. Perform QA/QC of deliverables prior to submittal to the City and implement a documented
QA/QC program in accordance with the Engineer's established procedures.
4. Attend project progress and coordination meetings with the CITY as required during Project
development.
CITY HALL • 630 EAST HOPKINS • SAN MARCOS, TExAs 78666.512.393.8150 • FACSIMILE 512.393.3983
SANMARCOSTX.GOV
N
