Regular Meeting January 18, 2007 Page 9 Avila, Assistant Director of Engineering Department, stated the Transportation Advisory Board reviewed the new law and the different areas of the City. He stated the Advisory Board wanted to do more research and bring back all the streets at once. Mayor Narvaiz stated she feels all the streets that have already been reviewed should be brought to Council. The Council then voted unanimously for approval of the Ordinance on first reading. Mayor Narvaiz introduced consideration of reconsideration of Zoning Ordinance. The Council chose not to reconsider, the caption reads as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE FUTURE LAND USE MAP FROM INDUSTRIAL TO COMMERCIAL FOR A 1.7 ACRE, MORE OR LESS, TRACT OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1560 IH -35 SOUTH; AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING THIS TRACT FROM "HI" HEAVY INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT TO "GC" GENERAL COMMERCIAL DISTRICT; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as follows: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF A CAB AND CHASSIS FOR A GAP VAX MC #1005 VACUUM TRUCK FROM HOUSTON FREIGHTLINER /STERLING AND RELATED EQUIPMENT FROM TEXAS UNDERGROUND FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT THROUGH THE HOUSTON - GALVESTON AREA COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS COOPERATIVE PURCHASING PROGRAM; AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE PURCHASING DOCUMENTS ON BEHALF OF THE CITY AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mr. Guerrero moved for adoption of the Resolution, and Mr. Jones seconded the motion. Mr. O'Leary stated this Resolution is for the purchase of vacuum truck and equipment for the Drainage Maintenance Division. The Council then voted unanimously for adoption of the Resolution.
