<br /> 3 <br />Regular Meeting September 25, 1989 Page 3 <br />Ms. Kissler moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading <br />and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion. Mr. Cobb stated during wet <br />weather the heavy equipment of carnivals causes ruts on the <br />property, which costs approximately 12 hours of labor of his <br />maintenance crew to repair, and this is one of the reasons the <br />Parks Board recommended carnivals and circuses not be allowed to <br />be held on City property. Mr. Kosub stated another factor for <br />consideration is the liability exposure of these activities on <br />City property. The Council voted unanimously for approval of the <br />Ordinance on first reading. <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of an <br />Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read as <br />follows: <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 2-31 OF DIVISION 1 OF ARTICLE III OF <br /> CHAPTER 2 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY TO INCREASE <br /> THE NUMBER OF POSITIONS WITHIN THE CLASSIFICATION OF POLICE <br /> OFFICER, TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF POSITIONS WITHIN THE <br /> CLASSIFICATION OF FIRE DRIVER/ENGINEER; AND DECLARING AN <br /> EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />Mr. Moore moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading <br />and to amend the number of positions under Fire Department - <br />driver/engineer to twelve and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of an <br />Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read as <br />follows: <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 29 - TRAFFIC, SECTION 29-111 OF THE <br /> SAN MARCOS CODE OF ORDINANCES BY THE ADDITION OF A NO <br /> PARKING ZONE ON THE NORTH SIDE OF M. L. KING STREET BETWEEN <br /> GUADALUPE AND FREDERICKSBURG STREETS, AND DECLARING AN <br /> EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />Ms. Kissler moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading <br />and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of an <br />Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read as <br />follows: <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 29 - TRAFFIC, ARTICLE V, SECTION <br /> 29-150 OF THE SAN MARCOS CODE OF ORDINANCES BY THE ADDITION <br /> OF A NO PARKING TOW-AWAY ZONE ON FM 621 (STAPLES ROAD), AND <br /> DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />Mr. Hernandez moved for approval of the Ordinance on first <br />reading and Mr. Moore seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanimously. <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of an <br />Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read as <br />follows: <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 29 - TRAFFIC, ARTICLE V, SECTION <br /> 29-150 OF THE SAN MARCOS CODE OF ORDINANCES BY THE ADDITION <br /> OF A NO PARKING TOW-AWAY ZONE ON RAMONA CIRCLE, AND <br /> DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />Ms. Kissler moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading <br />and Mr. Hernandez seconded the motion.
