99 Regular Meeting November 13, 1989 Page 2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 29 OF THE SAN MARCOS CODE OF ORDINANCES BY THE ADDITION OF A NO PARKING TOW-AWAY ZONE ON YALE STREET AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Ms. Kissler moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and Mr. Hernandez seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE DESIGNATION OF A HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACE ON BURLESON STREET, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Ms. Kissler moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and Mr. Hernandez seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration adoption of an Ordinance on third and final reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 29 OF THE SAN MARCOS CODE OF ORDINANCES BY THE ADDITION OF A NO PARKING TOW-AWAY ZONE ON BUENA VISTA STREET AND ON FOREST DRIVE, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mr. Plummer moved for adoption of the Ordinance on third and final reading. Mayor Morris moved to amend the Ordinance in Section 1 (Section 29-111 - No Parking) as follows: "Buena Vista Street, east side, from its intersection with Forest Drive to the dead end from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.; Buena Vista Street, west side, from its intersection with Forest Street to the dead end; Forest Drive, north side, from its intersection with Bluebonnet Drive to its intersection with Buena Vista from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.; Forest Drive, south side, from its intersection with Bluebonnet Drive to its intersection with Buena Vista Street," and in Section 2 (Section 29-150 - Tow-Away) to contain the identical amendment as in Section I above, and Mr. Hart seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. On roll call for adoption of the Ordinance on third and final reading, the following vote was recorded: AYE: Hernandez, Hart, Morris, Kissler, Plummer. NAY: None. ABSTAIN: Guerra (Mr. Guerra present at 7:45 p.m.). Mayor Morris introduced for consideration recônsideration of two Zoning Ordinances. The Council did not wish to reconsider the Ordinances. The captions of the Ordinances read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED JUNE 13, 1984 (VOL. 66) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF .718 ACRES, MORE OR LESS, OF LAND AREA OUT OF THE J. M. VERAMENDI SURVEY NO. 2, ALSO BEING A PART OF A 2.19 ACRE PARCEL DESCRIBED AS TRACT NO. 1 IN VOLUME 231, PAGE 149, HAYS COUNTY DEED RECORDS, A/K/A FARMERS GIN/BARSOTTI'S, FROM "I" (INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT) TO "C" (COMMERCIAL DISTRICT); AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
