Regular Meeting October 3, 2006 Page 6 Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration reconsideration of two Zoning Ordinances. The Council did not wish to reconsider this Ordinance. The captions read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE FUTURE LAND USE MAP FROM LOW DENSITY RESIDENTIAL TO COMMERCIAL FOR A 0.98 ACRE, MORE OR LESS, TRACT OF LAND LOCATED AT 1200 OLD MARTINDALE ROAD; AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING THIS TRACT FROM "SF -6" SINGLE FAMILY DISTRICT TO NEIGHBORHOOD COMMERCIAL DISTRICT; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE FUTURE LAND USE MAP FROM OPEN SPACE, COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL TO COMMERCIAL FOR A 113.333 ACRE, MORE OR LESS, TRACT OF LAND LOCATED IN THE 2500 - 2800 BLOCKS OF IH -35 SOUTH; AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING THIS TRACT FROM HEAVY INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT TO GENERAL COMMERCIAL DISTRICT; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration adoption of Resolution, the caption which was read as follows: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, NOMINATING CANDIDATES FOR APPOINTMENT TO COMMITTEES OF THE NATIONAL LEAGUE OF CITIES; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mr. Thomaides moved for adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Guerrero seconded the motion. Mr. Taylor provided the Council with the overview of the different Committees of the National League of Cities. Mr. Mihalkanin moved to amend Part 1, to read, Susan Narvaiz to the Finance, Administration, and Intergovernmental Relations Committee, John Thomaides to the Transportation, Infrastructure, and Services Committee, Chris Jones to the Energy, Environment, and Natural Resources Committee, and Daniel Guerrero to the Human Development Committee, and Mr. Jones seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Council then voted unanimously for adoption of the Resolution. Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration adoption of Resolution, the caption which was read as follows: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, DESIGNATING THE VOTING DELEGATE AND ALTERNATE VOTING DELEGATE FOR THE CITY AT THE ANNUAL BUSINESS MEETING OF THE NATIONAL LEAGUE OF CITIES TO BE HELD IN DECEMBER, 2006; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE ANY DOCUMENTS INCIDENT TO THE DESIGNATION; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
