<br />Regular Meeting <br /> <br />November 6, 2006 <br /> <br />Page 5 <br /> <br />is part of the loop around San Marcos. He stated this agreement is for the <br />I construction of the new railroad overpass at Yarrington Road and Post Road. <br />The City Council has previously approved a TIRZ agreement with Carma which <br />requires Carma to front all costs associated with the construction of the <br />railroad overpass. He stated Carma will be reimbursed over time for these <br />costs through increased tax revenue generated by the development. Mr. Bose <br />inquired to whether Hays County is part of the TIF. Mr. O'Leary stated <br />Hays County is part of the TIF. The Council then voted unanimously for <br />adoption of the Resolution (Mr. Thomaides was not in the Council Chambers <br />during this vote) . <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration Item 15, removed from the <br />consent agenda, adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />APPROVING THE PURCHASE, INSTALLATION, CONFIGURATION AND SUPPORT OF THE <br />OVERLAND 4100 NEO TAPE LIBRARY FROM UNIQUE DIGITAL, INC. THROUGH THE <br />TEXAS BUILDING AND PROCUREMENT COMMISSION'S DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION <br />RESOURCES ("DIR") PROGRAM; AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING MANAGER TO <br />EXECUTE APPROPRIATE PURCHASING DOCUMENTS WITH THE STATE OF TEXAS ON <br />I BEHALF OF THE CITY; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Mihalkanin moved for adoption of the Resolution, and Mr. Guerrero <br />seconded the motion. Mr. O'Leary stated the Overland 4100 will be directly <br />attached to the Storage Area Network for nightly backups of digital video <br />files and servers at the Police Department. The Overland 4100 gives the <br />City the most flexibility to start small and grow as storage space <br />increases. Mr. Bose inquired to whether there would be a cost savings to <br />the City. Mr. O'Leary stated there would be a cost savings, storage space <br />savings and time savings. The Council then voted unanimously for adoption <br />of the Resolution. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration Item 16, removed from the <br />consent agenda, adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />IMr. <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />APPROVING THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF SYMANTEC/VERITAS NETBACKUP <br />ENTERPRISE SERVER SOFTWARE FROM UNIQUE DIGITAL, INC. THROUGH THE TEXAS <br />BUILDING AND PROCUREMENT COMMISSION'S DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION <br />RESOURCES ("DIR") PROGRAM; AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING MANAGER TO <br />EXECUTE APPROPRIATE PURCHASING DOCUMENTS WITH THE STATE OF TEXAS ON <br />BEHALF OF THE CITY; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mihalkanin moved for adoption <br />seconded the motion.
