He stated the standardizing on Symantec/Veritas Netbackup Enterprise <br />server software will allow us to administer backups, restores, perform ad- <br />hoc jobs and configurations of backup polices from one management console <br />located in Information Technology offices. Also with standardization, IT <br />will save money on training, troubleshooting and maintenance costs. Mr. <br />Bose inquired to whether this will be a new program or adding onto what the <br />City currently has. Mr. O'Leary stated this will be new software. The <br />Council then voted unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration Item 18, removed from the <br />consent agenda, adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />APPROVING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND MARK TAYLOR; AUTHORIZING <br />THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Mihalkanin moved for adoption of the Resolution, and Mr. Diaz seconded <br />the motion. Mayor Narvaiz thanked Mr. Taylor for his seventeen years of I <br />service. She stated his contributions will be greatly missed. She also <br />stated she is sure that the Legal Staff will step up and continue on with <br />the Legal work of the City with the same high standards that Mr. Taylor <br />has. Mayor Narvaiz also stated Mr. Taylor is a very quiet and modest man, <br />who is well liked and will be missed. The Council then voted unanimously <br />for adoption of Resolution. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration Item 19, removed from the <br />consent agenda, adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />APPOINTING ANDREW QUITTNER AS INTERIM CITY ATTORNEY; AND DECLARING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Diaz moved for adoption of the Resolution, and Mr. Jones seconded the <br />motion. Mr. Mihalkanin moved to amend Part 2 Andrew Quittner shall work <br />under the authority of the City Manager until such time that the City <br />Council appoints a new City Attorney, and Mr. Diaz seconded, which passed <br />unanimously. The Council then voted unanimously for adoption of <br />Resolution. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced a public hearing regarding an Annexation <br />Ordinance, the caption which was read as follows: <br />
