<br />Regular Meeting <br /> <br />December 4, 2006 <br /> <br />Page 7 <br /> <br />I Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration a reconsideration of Zoning <br />Ordinance, which reads as follows: The Council did not choose to <br />reconsider the Zoning Ordinance. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE FUTURE LAND USE MAP FROM MEDIUM DENSITY <br />RESIDENTIAL TO MIXED USE FOR A 1.339 ACRE, MORE OR LESS, TRACT OF LAND <br />LOCATED AT 324 LINDA DRIVE; AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE <br />CITY BY REZONING THIS TRACT FROM "MH" MANUFACTURED HOME DISTRICT TO <br />"MU" MIXED USE DISTRICT; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND <br />PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration a reconsideration of Zoning <br />Ordinance, which read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE FUTURE LAND USE MAP FROM INDUSTRIAL TO <br />COMMERCIAL FOR A 3.1 ACRE, MORE OR LESS, TRACT OF LAND LOCATED AT <br />2030 IH-35 SOUTH; AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY <br />REZONING THIS TRACT FROM "HI" HEAVY INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT TO "GC" <br />GENERAL COMMERCIAL DISTRICT; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND <br />PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. <br /> <br />I Mr. Jones moved to reconsider the Zoning Ordinance, and Mr. Thomaides <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mr. Jones moved for <br />adoption of the Zoning Ordinance, and Ms. Couch seconded the motion. Mr. <br />Jones inquired as to the purpose of this zoning. Carol Barrett, Director <br />of Planning Development, stated this property was changed to the <br />Manufactured Home zoning district and Medium Density Residential <br />designation from Commercial designations during the 2005 citywide rezoning. <br />This was done in accordance with policy that zoning be changed to match <br />land use policy and built conditions. She stated the owner has been <br />marketing the property as Mixed Use and requested that his property be <br />rezoned to an equivalent zoning as was previously applied to the site. Mr. <br />Jones inquired to the amount of acreage remaining in the Industrial Zone <br />along IH35. Ms. Barrett stated there is not allot of acreage left in the <br />Industrial Zoning in South San Marcos that has access to IH35. The Council <br />then voted unanimously for the adoption of the Zoning Ordinance. <br /> <br />Mr. Jones moved to reconsider Item 14, adoption of the Resolution, which <br />was adopted earlier, Mr. Thomaides seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanimously, the caption read as follows: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF DIGITAL VIDEO SYSTEMS FOR THE POLICE <br />DEPARTMENT FROM AUSTIN RIBBON & COMPUTER SUPPLIES, INC. THROUGH THE <br />TARRANT COUNTY COOPERATIVE PURCHASING PROGRAM; AUTHORIZING THE <br />
