City Council Meeting Minutes November 18, 2014 <br />Report. <br />6:00 PM <br />III. Invocation <br />A moment of silence was observed. <br />IV. Pledges Of Allegiance - United States And Texas <br />Roan Turley, a 4th Grade Student at Hernandez Elementary, led the pledges. <br />V. 30 Minute Citizen Comment Period <br />Terry Norris, addressed the Council regarding the City installing speed humps on Mill Street. He <br />has met with Staff and they provided him with the necessary petition to get the speed humps <br />installed. He thanked City Staff that assisted his concerns recently. He encouraged the Council <br />to approve the speed humps on Mill Street when they come before them in the future. <br />Dianne Wassenich, addressed the Council on behalf of the River foundation about the expansion <br />of Sessom Drive. She asked the council to look into having a bridge type structure built versus <br />having more concrete there along the creek. The idea of returning one of the lanes up the hill to <br />Comanche to pedestrian would make sense. <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br />A motion was made by Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Scott, seconded by Council Member Thomason, <br />to approve the consent agenda. The motion carried by the following vote: <br />For: 7 - Mayor Guerrero, Council Member Thomaides, Council Member Thomason, <br />Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Scott, Mayor Pro -Tem Prather, Council Member Prewitt <br />and Council Member Hughson <br />Against: 0 <br />4. Consider approval of the following: <br />November 5, 2014, Regular Meeting Minutes <br />November 7, 2014, Facilities Workshop Minutes <br />5. Consider approval of Ordinance 2014 -68, on second of three readings, granting to <br />Centerpoint Energy Resources Corp., dba Centerpoint Energy Texas Gas Operations, <br />the right, privilege and franchise to construct, install, extend, remove, replace, <br />abandon, operate and maintain its facilities within the public rights -of -way of the City <br />of San Marcos, Texas for the transportation, delivery, sale and distribution of natural <br />gas; containing other provisions relating to the foregoing subject; providing for <br />severability and providing an effective date. <br />6. Consider approval of Resolution 2014 -156R approving an annual contract between <br />the City of San Marcos and Green Guy Recycling, Inc. for the provision of Household <br />Hazardous Waste Facility Personnel for the Community Services Department in the <br />total annual amount of $33,280.00; ratifying the Purchasing Manager's execution of <br />the purchasing documents on behalf of the City; approving an extension of the annual <br />contract in an estimated annual amount of $30,000.00 contingent upon the City's <br />City of San Marcos Page 2 <br />
