City Council Meeting Minutes January 6, 2015 <br />There were no comments. <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br />A motion was made by Council Member Thomason, seconded by Council Member Thomaides, to <br />approve the consent agenda items. The motion carried by the following vote: <br />For: 7 - Mayor Guerrero, Council Member Thomaides, Council Member Thomason, <br />Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Scott, Mayor Pro -Tem Prather, Council Member Prewitt <br />and Council Member Hughson <br />Against: 0 <br />3. Consider approval of the following: <br />December 12, 2014 Special Meeting Minutes <br />December 16, 2014, Regular Meeting Minutes <br />4. Consider approval of Ordinance 2014 -73, on the second of two readings, amending <br />the Official Zoning Map of the City by rezoning a 5.94 acre, more or less, tract of land <br />out of the J.M. Veramendi Survey No. 1, being Lot 1 of the Thornton Addition, located <br />at the intersection of IH -35 and Luciano Flores Boulevard (Thornton Tract), from "FD" <br />Future Development District to "GC" General Commercial District, save and except the <br />portions of said tract designated as Floodway and Water Quality Zones and the <br />portion of said tract along the frontage of IH -35 already zoned "GC" General <br />Commercial District; and including procedural provisions. <br />5. Consider approval of Ordinance 2014 -74, on the second of two readings, amending <br />the Official Zoning Map of the City by rezoning a 0.305 acre, more or less, tract of <br />land, being Lot 2, Block 16, Original Town of San Marcos, located at 136 and 140 <br />South Fredericksburg Street, from Downtown Smartcode "74" General Urban District <br />to "T5" Urban Center District; and including procedural provisions. <br />6. Consider approval of Ordinance 2014 -75, on the second of two readings, authorizing <br />the installation of speed cushions in both directions in the 1600 through 1900 blocks <br />of Mill Street (from Uhland Road to Telluride Street); and including procedural <br />provisions. <br />7. Consider approval of Resolution 2015 -01 R authorizing the submission of a grant <br />application to the United States Department of Homeland Security, Federal <br />Emergency Management Agency (the "U.S. DHS - FEMA ") for an FY 2014 Assistance <br />to Firefighters Grant ( "AFG' ") in the estimated amount of $326,000.00 for the purchase <br />and installation of base stations, mobiles and portable radios to ensure that the City <br />will meet the Project 25 compliant Land Mobile Radio equipment standards for <br />mission critical communications throughout the regional service area; approving the <br />City's expenditure of local matching funds in the amount of $32,660.00; authorizing <br />the City Manager to act on the City's behalf with regard to the submission of this <br />application and all related documents, including contracts with the U.S. DHS -FEMA <br />and other parties as necessary to implement the grant; and declaring an effective <br />date. <br />City of San Marcos Page 2 <br />
