City Council Meeting Minutes February 17, 2015 <br />owner and asked the Council to please do what you can to make the best decision to keep <br />economic development going the way that it is. He asked that they please continue to support it. <br />Bucky Couch, San Marcos, addressed the Council in favor of the continued funding for the <br />GSMP and feels very strongly that the partnership has started to yield some good results and <br />would like to see this continue. He feels that the EDSM board should be revised like the sunset <br />advisory commission recommends. <br />Frank Arredondo, San Marcos addressed the Council about his involvement within the <br />community and he believes in it. He wants the best for San Marcos, for the Children and to have <br />a living wage. He has seen a change in San Marcos over last couple of years and has heard <br />some of the good things that are coming. He stated that GSMP has the talent and resources. He <br />asked the Council to please not cut back their funding. <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br />A motion was made by Mayor Pro -Tem Prather, seconded by Council Member Hughson, to <br />approve Items 5 -12 on the Consent Agenda. The motion carried by the following vote: <br />For: 7 - Mayor Guerrero, Council Member Thomaides, Council Member Thomason, <br />Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Scott, Mayor Pro -Tem Prather, Council Member Prewitt <br />and Council Member Hughson <br />Against: 0 <br />5. Consider approval of the following Minutes: <br />January 30, 2015, Packet Meeting Workshop <br />February 3, 2015, Regular Meeting <br />6. Consider approval of Ordinance 2015 -07, on the second of two readings, creating a <br />Designated Permit Area under Section 82.189 of the San Marcos City Code that <br />allows parking by permit only between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday <br />through Friday on both sides of the 100 to 200 blocks of Ridgeway Drive; amending <br />the Traffic Register to reflect such Designated Permit Area; and providing for an <br />effective date. <br />7. Consider approval of Ordinance 2015 -08, on the second of two readings, amending <br />the Official Zoning Map of the City by rezoning 15.728 acres, more or less, of land <br />comprised of the four corner lots at the intersection of Wonder World Drive and <br />Craddock Avenue to "CC" Community Commercial District, said tracts being part of <br />what is commonly known as the C &G Tract, which is subject to a Development <br />Agreement with the City; and including procedural provisions. <br />8. Consider approval of Resolution 2015 -16R approving an Agreement between the City <br />and Klotz Associates for the provision of professional engineering services in <br />connection with the Wallace Addition - Water And Wastewater Improvements Project <br />in an amount not to exceed $136,645.27 contingent upon the Engineer's provision of <br />sufficient insurance in accordance with the attached Agreement; authorizing the City <br />Manager or his designee to execute this agreement on behalf of the City; and <br />declaring an effective date. <br />9. Consider approval of Resolution 2015 -17R approving the First Amendment to the <br />City of San Marcos Page 4 <br />
