No one ~id, <br />so Mayor Younger closed the public hearing. Mr. Farr moved for <br />adoption of the Zoning Ordinance and Mr. Brown seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Younger introduced for consideration a public hearing and <br />approval of an Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was <br />read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE FUTURE LAND USE PLAN (MAP) <br />OF THE MASTER PLAN OF SAID CITY, TO ADD LOW DENSITY <br />RESIDENTIAL, MEDIUM DENSITY RESIDENTIAL, HIGH DENSITY <br />RESIDENTIAL, FLOATING OFFICE PROFESSIONAL, FLOATING <br />NEIGHBORHOOD COMMERCIAL, COMMERCIAL, INDUSTRIAL, PUBLIC, <br />AND PERMANENT OPEN SPACE/FLOODPLAIN LAND USES FOR 935. <br />ACRES OF LAND, A PORTION OF SAID PROPERTY BEING WITHIN <br />THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS AND A <br />PORTION OF SAID PROPERTY BEING WITHIN SAID CITY'S TWO <br />(2) MILE EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION AN:' LOC.~.'IED <br />SOUTH OF CENTERPOINT ROAD AND EXTENDING WESTWARD FROM <br />THE EAST SIDE OF IH 35 TO INCLUDE BOTH SIDES OF IH 35 <br />AND BOTH SIDES OF HUNTER ROAD; AND DECLARING AN EFFECT- <br />IVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mayor Younger opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to <br />speak in favor or in opposition to the land use. No one did, so <br />Mayor Younger closed the public hearing. Mr. Guerra moved for <br />approval of the Ordinance on first reading and Ms. Kissler seconded <br />the motion. Mr. Brown asked Mr. Robbins about the floating commercial <br />designation, to which Mr. Robbins responded that the floating commercial <br />designation is to be at a major arterial intersection. In response to <br />Mr. Nicola's question, Mr. Robbins stated the thoroughfare plan has been <br />resolved. He stated the Planning Commission is reviewing the map, which <br />includes Lowman Ranch, and is being held in abeyance for the Highway <br />Department's loop alignment. He stated the map in the packet is as <br />recommended by the Planning Commission. The Council voted unanimously <br />for approval of the Ordinance on first reading. <br /> <br />Mayor Younger introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on <br />first reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 29-99 OF THE SAN <br />MARCOS CODE OF ORDINANCES TO PROVIDE THAT THE ONE- <br />WAY DESIGNATION FOR POST OFFICE ALLEY FROM COMAL TO <br />HUTCHISON STREET-NORTH BE CHANCED SO THAT POST OFFICE <br />ALLEY IS A ONE-WAY ALLEY FROM SAN ANTONIO STREET TO <br />HUTCHISON STREET-NORTH ONLY; AND ESTABLISHING AN EF- <br />FECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Ms. Kissler moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and <br />Mr. Nicola seconded the motion. On roll call the following vote was <br />recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Coddington, <br />NAY: None. <br />ABSTAIN: Brm\i'n. <br /> <br />Farr, Younger, Guerra, Kissler, Nicola. <br />
