109 Regular Meeting October 11, 1993 Page 2 Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of an appointment to the Central Texas Library System. Mayor Morris moved to reappoint Pat Lindstrom, which passed unanimously. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration confirmation of the city Manager's appointment to the civil service commission. Mr. Gilley recommended Chris Luna for approval. Mayor Morris moved to approve Mr. Gilley's appointment and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration a public hearing and adoption of a Zoning Ordinance, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING A PORTION OF LOTS 11 AND 12, BLOCK 12, FIRST SECTION, VICTORY GARDENS ADDITION TO THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, AS RECORDED IN VOLUME 128, PAGE 46 OF THE HAYS COUNTY DEED RECORDS, LOCATED AT 405 ARMSTRONG STREET, FROM "M" (SINGLE-FAMILY, DUPLEX AND NEIGHBORHOOD BUSINESS DISTRICT [LOW DENSITY]) AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mayor Morris opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak for or against the zoning change. No one did, so Mayor Morris closed the public hearing. Mr. Guerra moved for adoption of the zoning Ordinance and Mr. Hart seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration a public hearing and approval of an Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ELIMINATING THE NAME BUGG LANE FOR THAT PORTION OF ROADWAY ALSO DESIGNATED AS STATE HIGHWAY 80 FROM ITS INTERSECTION WITH THE EAST ACCESS ROAD OF I.H. 35 TO BUGG LANE; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mayor Morris opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak for or against the name change. No one did, so Mayor Morris closed the public hearing. Mr. Hart moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading, and Mr. Mooney seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPOINTMENT TO THE CITY ELECTRICAL BOARD; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; REPEALING ALL CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mr. Hart moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and Mr. Cox seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration reconsideration of three zoning Ordinances. The city Council did not wish to reconsider any of these Ordinances. M. VERAMENDI LEAGUE SURVEY NO. ONE, CITY OF SAN MARCOS, HAYS COUNTY, TEXAS, LOCATED ALONG THE SOUTHWEST SIDE OF THE 1300 BLOCK OF WONDER WORLD DRIVE, FROM "PD" (PRE-DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT) TO "MF-5" (MULTI-FAMILY DISTRICT [HIGH DENSITY]) AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
