Mayor Morris moved to <br />reappoint Pat Lindstrom, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration confirmation of the city <br />Manager's appointment to the civil service commission. Mr. Gilley <br />recommended Chris Luna for approval. Mayor Morris moved to approve <br />Mr. Gilley's appointment and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration a public hearing and <br />adoption of a Zoning Ordinance, the caption which was read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING <br />A PORTION OF LOTS 11 AND 12, BLOCK 12, FIRST SECTION, VICTORY <br />GARDENS ADDITION TO THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, AS RECORDED IN <br />VOLUME 128, PAGE 46 OF THE HAYS COUNTY DEED RECORDS, LOCATED AT <br />405 ARMSTRONG STREET, FROM "M" (SINGLE-FAMILY, DUPLEX AND <br />NEIGHBORHOOD BUSINESS DISTRICT [LOW DENSITY]) AND DECLARING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to <br />speak for or against the zoning change. No one did, so Mayor Morris <br />closed the public hearing. Mr. Guerra moved for adoption of the <br />zoning Ordinance and Mr. Hart seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration a public hearing and <br />approval of an Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was <br />read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, ELIMINATING THE NAME BUGG LANE FOR THAT PORTION OF <br />ROADWAY ALSO DESIGNATED AS STATE HIGHWAY 80 FROM ITS <br />INTERSECTION WITH THE EAST ACCESS ROAD OF I.H. 35 TO BUGG LANE; <br />PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to <br />speak for or against the name change. No one did, so Mayor Morris <br />closed the public hearing. Mr. Hart moved for approval of the <br />Ordinance on first reading, and Mr. Mooney seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance <br />on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THE QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPOINTMENT TO THE CITY <br />ELECTRICAL BOARD; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; REPEALING ALL <br />CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Hart moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and <br />Mr. Cox seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration reconsideration of three <br />zoning Ordinances. The city Council did not wish to reconsider any <br />of these Ordinances. ONE, CITY OF SAN MARCOS, HAYS COUNTY, TEXAS, <br />LOCATED ALONG THE SOUTHWEST SIDE OF THE 1300 BLOCK OF WONDER <br />WORLD DRIVE, FROM "PD" (PRE-DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT) TO "MF-5" <br />(MULTI-FAMILY DISTRICT [HIGH DENSITY]) AND DECLARING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />
