City Council Meeting Minutes August 18, 2015 <br />Marcos Commission on Children and Youth. The motion carried by the <br />following vote: <br />For: 6 - Mayor Guerrero, Council Member Thomaides, Council Member Thomason, Mayor <br />Pro -Tem Prather, Council Member Prewitt and Council Member Hughson <br />Against: 0 <br />Absent: 1 - Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Scott <br />22. Hold discussion regarding the San Marcos Economic Development Board, and <br />provide direction to Staff. <br />Jamie Lee Pettijohn, City Clerk, provided the Council with brief overview of <br />the item. The Council provided the following suggestions: <br />a least 2 small businesses are present on the Board, to meet regularly and as <br />needed, no more than 4 non-resident members, that materials provided by the <br />Board to the City he given to the Council at least 3 business days prior to a <br />meeting, that after the Board receives information from GSMP that the <br />discussion be amongst the EDSM Board and City Staff. The Council appoinWi <br />the following members to a subcommittee for review and recommendation <br />back to the Council: Mayor Guerrero, Council Member Hughson and Council <br />Member Thomason <br />23. Hold discussion regarding the Airport Commission Ordinance, and provide direction to <br />Staff. <br />Jamie Lee Pettijohn, City Clerk, introduced the item. Following discussion th�; <br />Staff will bring back an Ordinance that includes the recommendations by <br />Texas Aviation Partners, and to also include a recommendation for the <br />composition of the Board to include 3 businesses or organizations that are <br />T-= esent at the airport. The board's function will be to help with promotion. <br />24. Hold discussion regarding Airport operations, Rules and Regulations, Minimum <br />Standards, and Chapter 10 - Aviation within the San Marcos City Code, and provide <br />direction to Staff. <br />Jared Miller, City Manager, introduced the item. Following discussion Texas <br />Aviation Partners will gather data regarding the approximation of the number <br />of overnight stays are generated by those flying into the Airport. Staff will <br />bring back items to Council for action regarding the adoption of minimum <br />standards and rules and regulations. <br />25. Receive a Fiscal Year 2015-2016 Budget follow-up and hold discussion, and provide <br />direction to Staff. <br />Heather Hurlbert, provided the Council with a brief presentation.
