City Council Meeting Minutes September 1, 2015 <br />Rick Bowen, addressed the Council regarding the Proposition that was placed <br />on the ballot by the Council to remove fluoride. He stated that this does not <br />from preventing others from placing chemicals in the water, and that the <br />Council should make their case on why they want to continue adding fluoride. <br />Duane TeGrotenhuis, addressed the Council as a franchise business kayak <br />owner. If the dam is taken out then there are many dangerous areas around <br />Thompson's Island. He spoke about the different channels and their safety. <br />He advised Council and Staff to talk to the folks that are familiar with these <br />channels from a recreations standpoint. <br />Molly Cummings, addressed the Council as a biologist and is concerned with <br />the proposed removal of the dam. It will reduce the small prey fish and these <br />fish are dependent on the slow flow. She stated that if you increase the flow <br />you blow out the fish and plants that they depend on. Her concern is in species <br />diversity of these fish. She is happy to help Staff in the future. <br />Dianne Wassencih, addressed the council that there was 3 meters of soft <br />sediment at Cape's Dam at last measure.
