ARTICLE 3. GENERALLY <br />Sec. 90.121. Definitions. <br />In this article: <br />Certificate means a certificate of public convenience and necessity authorizing the holder <br />thereof to conduct a taxicab business in the city. <br />Holder means a person to whom a certificate of public convenience and necessity has been <br />issued. <br />Manifest means a daily record prepared by a taxicab driver of all trips made by the driver, <br />showing time and place of origin, destination, number of passengers and the amount of fare of <br />each trip. <br />Rate card means a card for display in each taxicab which contains the rates of fare in force. <br />Taxicab means a motor vehicle regularly engaged in the business of carrying passengers for <br />hire and not operated on a fixed route, other than a limousine. <br />Taxicab business means a service consisting of the provision and operation of motor vehicles <br />for hire which carry passengers and are not operated on a fixed route, and does not include <br />limousine services. <br />(Code 1970, § 27-1) <br />Cross references: Definitions and rules of construction generally, §§ 1.002, 1.003. <br />Sec. 90.122. Vehicle inspection. <br />Any vehicle operated pursuant to this article shall be inspected as required by state law. An <br />inspection shall occur during the month a vehicle is converted to use as a taxi. <br />(Code 1970, § 27-15) <br />Sec. 90.123. Condition of vehicles. <br />Every vehicle operating under this article shall be kept clean and in sanitary condition. <br />(Code 1970, § 27-16) <br />Sec. 90.124. Designation of taxi. <br />Each taxicab shall bear on one door on each side in conspicuous painted letters, readable by a <br />person with normal vision at 20 feet, the name of the company and in addition may bear an <br />approved identifying design of the same size. No design shall be approved that, in the opinion <br />of the city, conflicts with or imitates that of any vehicle already operating under a certificate <br />granted under this article. <br />(Code 1970, § 27-17)
