resulting from any one accident. The policies shall be approved by the city attorney and filed <br />with the city secretary. The policies of insurance shall not be cancelled or surrendered except <br />after ten days' written notice to the city secretary. Failure of the certificate holder to procure <br />and file the policies of insurance as required by this section or failure to keep the policies in <br />force shall immediately forfeit and make the certificate null and void, and all rights thereunder <br />shall at once cease. <br />(Code 1970, § 27-6) <br />Sec. 90.167. Transferability. <br />No certificate of public convenience and necessity required under this division may be sold, <br />assigned, mortgaged or otherwise transferred without the consent of the city council. <br />(Code 1970, § 27-8) <br />Sec. 90.168. Suspension and revocation. <br />(a) A certificate issued under this division may be revoked or suspended by the city council <br />for any of the following reasons: <br />(1) The holder has violated any of the sections of this article. <br />(2) The holder has discontinued operations for more than ten days. <br />(3) The holder has violated any ordinance of the city, the laws of the United States or <br />of the state, the violation of which adversely affects the ability of holder to offer <br />public transportation. <br />(b) Prior to suspension or revocation, the holder shall be given notice of the proposed <br />action, the alleged causes therefor and shall have an opportunity to be heard. <br />(Code 1970, § 27-9) <br />Secs. 90.169--90.185. Reserved. <br />DIVISION 3. DRIVER'S PERMIT <br />Sec. 90.186. Required. <br />No person shall operate a taxicab for hire upon the city streets and no person who owns or <br />controls a taxicab shall permit it to be so driven, unless the driver of the taxicab shall have in <br />force a taxicab driver's permit issued under this division. <br />(Code 1970, § 27-10) <br />Sec. 90.187. Application. <br />(a) The holder of a certificate of public convenience and necessity shall file with the city <br />secretary an application for a taxicab driver's permit for each driver employed by the <br />holder. On the application the holder shall certify that there is currently in effect an <br />insurance policy covering the driver while the driver is engaged in providing taxi service. <br />(b) It is the responsibility of the holder to immediately notify the city secretary if the <br />insurance required by subsection (a) of this section is no longer in effect for a driver <br />holding a permit and employed by the holder. <br />(Code 1970, § 27-11) <br />Sec. 90.188.
