Demonstrated diplomacy and resource in
agenda items.
Sunset recommendation: None.
PERSONNEL APPEALS BOARD
Did not meet.
Problems reported by the Board: None
Sunset recommendation: None
PLANNING COMMISSION
Problems reported by the commission:
Sunset Observation: The two commissions function very well
together. A citizen who had a request that needed to be approved
by both bodies came one time. Planning handled it~ Zoning dealt
with it.
Sunset recommendation: Sunset Commission voted to keep the
Planning Commission as a separate commission with the stipulation
that the Planning Commission do only planning. If they choose not
to have pure planning by the Planning Commission and pure zoning
by the Zoning Commission, they should consider combining the two
commissions into one.
PLUMBING BOARD OF APPEALS AND ADJUSTMENTS
Sunset Recommendations: Sunset Commission concurs with the
adoption of the 1991 Standard Code (now pending at the Legal
Department prior to City Council action), whi ch will consolidate
the Building Board of Adjustments and Appeals, the Mechanical
Board of Adjustments and Appeals and the Plumbing Board of
Adjustments and Appeal s. The new Board will be called the
"Construction Board of Adjustments and Appeals". The new board
will consist of seven members and two alternates. The Board will
hear appeals to the Building Code, Plumbing Code, Mechanical Code
and Unsafe Building Abatement Code.
