City Council Meeting Minutes January 19,2016 <br /> Against: 0 <br /> Absent: 1 - Council Member Prather <br /> The Council reconviened into open session at 6:26 p.m. The Council provided <br /> direction to Staff in closed session. <br /> PRESENTATIONS <br /> 2. Receive a Staff presentation related to taxi cab rates of fare and a review of the <br /> sections of the ordinance related to Transportation Network Companies (TNCs), and <br /> provide direction to Staff. <br /> Chase Stapp, Police Chief, provided the Council with a brief overview of the <br /> taxi cab rates of fare and the review of the sections of the Ordinance related to <br /> Transportation Network Companies. He wouldn't recommend the rates being <br /> changed at this time. Staff will bring back an amendment to Section 82.170 of <br /> the Ordinance to require the TNC's to use the cab stands. <br /> 3. Receive a Staff update regarding major projects north of Sessom Drive, and provide <br /> direction to Staff. <br /> Shaun Condor, Project Engineer, provided the Council with a presentation on <br /> the major projects north of Sessom Drive. Staff will look at the timing of the <br /> lights for a right turning motion from Sessom onto University while cars are <br /> able to turn left from University onto Sessom. Staff will provide the cost of <br /> adding measures to capture silt from runoff on Sessom suggestion to add color <br /> to the crosswalk improvements on Old Ranch Road 12. Staff will forward the <br /> total estimated cost of all projects to the Council. <br /> 6:00 PM <br /> V. 30 Minute Citizen Comment Period <br /> No comments. <br /> CONSENT AGENDA <br /> A motion was made by Council Member Prather, seconded by Council <br /> Member Gregson, that Items #4-8 of the Consent Agenda be approved,with <br /> the exception of Item #9 that was considered separately. The motion carried by <br /> the following vote: <br /> For: 7- Mayor Guerrero, Mayor Pro-Tern Thomaides, Council Member Prather, Deputy <br /> Mayor Pro Tem Prewitt, Council Member Hughson, Council Member Derrick and <br /> Council Member Gregson <br /> City of San Marcos Page 2 <br />
