4 <br />Regular Meeting <br />October 9, 1995 <br />Page 3 <br />MOORE: Sample. <br />MOONEY: Sample. <br />HART: Sample. <br />MORRIS: Sample. <br />GUERRA: Garza. <br />COX: Garza. <br />HERNANDEZ: Garza. <br />Ms. Sample will represent the Housing Authority. Mr. Moore moved <br />Rev. Thomas Ates represent the African-American community, which <br />passed unanimously. The Hispanic community and RSVP representatives <br />will be rescheduled for the next meeting. <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval to confirm the <br />City Manager's appointment to the Civil Service Commission. Mayor <br />Morris moved to confirm the reappointment of Cris Williams and Mr. <br />Guerra seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration a public hearing and <br />adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as follows: <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THE FUTURE LAND USE MAP OF THE` MASTER PLAN OF <br />THE CITY FROM COMMERCIAL TO INDUSTRIAL FOR LOTS 1, 2, 3 AND 4, <br />D. P. HOPKINS 2ND ADDITION, LOCATED AT THE INTERSECTION OF <br />COMAL STREET AND EDWARDS GARY STREET AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br />Mayor Morris opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to <br />speak for or against the amendment. No one did, so Mayor Morris <br />closed the public hearing. Mr. Guerra moved for adoption of the <br />Resolution and Mr. Mooney seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanimously (Mr. Moore not present to vote on this item). <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration a public hearing and <br />adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as follows: <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THE FUTURE LAND USE MAP OF THE MASTER PLAN OF <br />THE CITY, FROM COMMERCIAL TO INDUSTRIAL FOR A 0.9 ACRE TRACT OF <br />PROPERTY LOCATED AT 2517 I.H.35 SOUTH AND DECLARING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />Mayor Morris opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to <br />speak. No one did, so Mayor Morris closed the public hearing. Mr. <br />Mooney moved for adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Hernandez <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration a public hearing and <br />adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as follows: <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THE FUTURE LAND USE MAP OF THE MASTER PLAN OF <br />THE CITY FROM INDUSTRIAL TO COMMERCIAL FOR A 0.78 ACRE TRACT OF <br />PROPERTY LOCATED AT 2050 I.H.35 SOUTH AND DECLARING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />Mayor Morris opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to <br />speak. No one did, so Mayor Morris closed the public hearing. Mr. <br />Hart stated he had filed a conflict of interest form with the City <br />Secretary and would abstain on this matter. Mr. Moore moved for <br />adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion. On <br />roll call the following vote was recorded: <br />AYE: Moore, Morris, Guerra, Cox, Hernandez. <br />NAY: None. <br />ABSTAIN: Hart. <br />(Mr. Mooney not present to vote on this item).
