City Council Meeting Minutes May 3, 2016 <br />There being no further comments, Mayor Guerrero closed the Public Hearing <br />at 7:43 p.m. <br />A motion was made by Mayor Pro -Tem Thomaides, seconded by Council <br />Member Derrick, to approve Ordinance 2016 -14, on the first of two readings. <br />The motion carried by the following vote: <br />For: 7 - Mayor Guerrero, Mayor Pro -Tem Thomaides, Council Member Prather, Deputy <br />Mayor Pro Tern Prewitt, Council Member Hughson, Council Member Derrick and <br />Council Member Gregson <br />Against: 0 <br />17. TOOPM Receive a Staff presentation and hold a Public Hearing to receive comments <br />for or against Ordinance 2016 -15, amending the official zoning map of the City by <br />rezoning a 2.3 acre, more or less, tract of land out of the William H. Van Horn Survey <br />No. 107, Abstract No. 464, located West of IH -35 at 202 Posey Road, from "AR" <br />Agricultural Ranch District to "GC" General Commercial District; and including <br />procedural provisions; and consider approval of Ordinance 2016 -15, on the first of two <br />readings. <br />Shannon Mattingly, Director of Development Services, provided the Council <br />with a brief presentation of the request. <br />Mayor Guerrero opened the Public Hearing at 7:48 p.m. <br />There being no comments, Mayor Guerrero closed the Public Hearing at 7:48 <br />p.m. <br />A motion was made by Mayor Pro -Tem Thomaides, seconded by Deputy <br />Mayor Pro Tem Prewitt, to approve Ordinance 2016 -15, on the first of two <br />readings. TOOPM Receive a Staff presentation and hold a Public Hearing to receive comments <br />for or against Ordinance 2016 -16 approving the abandonment of an eight foot by 172 <br />foot, more or less, unimproved section of Patton Street on the west side of Gravel <br />Street, subject to the reservation of a Public Utility Easement within such abandoned <br />section, the removal fences within such section and replatting the abutting property to <br />combine it with such section; authorizing the City Manager to execute a Quitclaim <br />City of San Marcos Page 6 <br />
