City Council Meeting Minutes April 5, 2016 <br />spoke in opposition of the project and his concerns with traffic and safety. He <br />asked that the younger audience get involved. <br />Laura Hughes, thanked the Council and Mayor for fighting for the citizens of <br />Blanco Vista during the recent truck stop rezoning request before the Kyle <br />City Council. She spoke in opposition of the Lindsey HUI Project. <br />Lisa Maria Coppoletta, spoke about the Smart Meter Opt Out Program and <br />asked that the Council please reduce the cost. She said that the $100 should be <br />waved or at worst it should be broken down into six payments. She thanked <br />the Council for Items #21 and 22 and their protection of public health. <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br />A motion was made by Council Member Gregson, seconded by Council <br />Member Derrick, to approve the consent agenda with the exception of item #6 <br />and item #17, which were pulled and considered separately. The motion <br />carried by the following vote: <br />For: 7 - Mayor Guerrero, Mayor Pro -Tem Thomaides, Council Member Prather, Deputy <br />Mayor Pro Tern Prewitt, Council Member Hughson, Council Member Derrick and <br />Council Member Gregson <br />Against: 0 <br />4. Consider approval of the following: <br />March 11, 2016 - Packet Meeting Minutes <br />March 15, 2016 - Regular Meeting Minutes <br />5. Consider approval of Ordinance 2016 -01, on <br />Chapter 22, Cemeteries, of the San Marcos <br />rules, procedures and restrictions with regard <br />other things, providing new limits for casketed <br />private mausoleums; providing for the repeal <br />penalties; and providing an effective date. <br />the second of two readings, amending <br />City Code by establishing miscellaneous <br />to the city's cemetery, including, among <br />burials and cremations, and prohibiting <br />of any conflicting provisions; providing <br />6. Consider approval of Ordinance 2016 -02, on the second of two readings, amending <br />the fees to be charged for Cemetery lots, Mausoleum Crypts, and Columbarium <br />niches at the San Marcos Cemetery; providing for the repeal of any conflicting <br />provisions; and providing an effective date. <br />Main Motion: A motion was made by Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Prewitt, <br />seconded by Council Member Hughson to approve Ordinance 2016 -02, on the <br />second of two readings. <br />Motion to Amend: a motion was made by Council Member Hughson, seconded <br />by Council Member Derrick, to amend Ordinance 2016 -02 by amending the <br />City of San Marcos Page 3 <br />
