<br />4 <br />Regular Meeting April 11, 1994 Page 4 <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration a public hearing and <br />adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS, AMENDING THE FUTURE LAND USE MAP OF THE MASTER PLAN OF <br /> THE CITY, FROM COMMERCIAL TO LOW DENSITY RESIDENTIAL FOR A 0.33 <br /> ACRE TRACT OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT 404-406 MEINERS STREET AND <br /> DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. ¡ <br /> <br />Mayor Morris opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to <br />speak. Albert Sierra, representing the Housing Authority, requested <br />the change and recommended its approval. Gus Mozelle, architect for <br />the Housing Authority on this project, showed the Council what the <br />houses would look like. No one else wished to speak, so Mayor <br />Morris closed the public hearing. Mr. Moore moved for adoption of <br />the Resolutiori and Mr. Cox seconded the motion. The Council asked <br />if the properties on this agenda would be rental properties or <br />owned. Mr. Sierra stated these would be rental properties, but <br />separate funds could be applied for owner-occupied properties. The <br />Council requested Mr. Sierra pursue application for owner-occupied <br />properties. The Council voted unanimously for adoption of the <br />Resolution. <br /> .; <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration a public hearing and <br />adoption of a Zoning Ordinance, the caption which was read as <br />follows: <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING <br /> A 1.329 ACRE TRACT OF PROPERTY, LOCATED ON THE NORTHWEST SIDE <br /> OF THE 700 BLOCK OF MARTIN LUTHER KING DRIVE, FROM "MF-4" <br /> (MULTI-FAMILY DISTRICT [HIGH DENSITY]) TO "R-1" (SINGLE-FAMILY <br /> DWELLING DISTRICT [LOW DENSITY]) AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE <br /> DATE. <br />Mayor Morris opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to <br />speak. Albert Sierra asked the Council for their support of this <br />rezoning. Ollie Giles asked how many houses would be constructed in <br />this project. Mr. Sierra advised five houses. Ms. Giles called HUD <br />and was advised Mr. Sierra could resubmit an application for the <br />homes to be owner-occupied rather than rental properties and wanted <br />Mr. Sierra to do so. No one else wished to speak, so Mayor Morris <br />closed the public hearing. Mr. Moore moved for adoption of the <br />Zoning Ordinance and Mr. Plummer seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanimously. <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration a public hearing and <br />adoption of a Zoning Ordinance, the caption which was read as <br />follows: <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING <br /> A 0.11 ACRE TRACT OF PROPERTY, LOCATED AT 301 ROOSEVELT STREET, <br /> FROM "M" (SINGLE-FAMILY, DUPLEX AND NEIGHBORHOOD BUSINESS <br /> DISTRICT) AND "R-l" (SINGLE-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT [LOW <br /> DENSITY]) TO "R-2" (SINGLE-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT [MEDIUM <br /> DENSITY]) AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. ¡ <br /> ¡ <br />Mayor Morris opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to - <br />speak. Mr. Sierra stated he was in support of this rezoning.
