<br /> 5 <br />Regular Meeting April 11, 1994 Page 5 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING <br /> A 0.34 ACRE TRACT OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT 733 CENTRE STREET, <br /> FROM "M" (SINGLE-FAMILY, DUPLEX AND NEIGHBORHOOD BUSINESS <br /> DISTRICT) TO "R-1" (SINGLE-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT [LOW <br /> DENSITY]) AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />Mayor Morris opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to <br />speak. Albert Sierra stated he is in favor of the rezoning. He <br />stated the construction of the homes would start in early Fall. No <br />one else wished to speak, so Mayor Morris closed the public hearing. <br />Mr. Cox moved for adoption of the zoning Ordinance and Mr. Moore <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Morris .introduced for consideration a public hearing and <br />adoption of a Zoning ordinance, the caption which was read as <br />follows: <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING <br /> A 0.33 ACRE TRACT OF PROPERTY, LOCATED AT 404-406 MEINERS <br /> STREET, FROM "c" (COMMERCIAL DISTRICT) TO "R-l" (SINGLE-FAMILY <br /> DWELLING DISTRICT [LOW DENSITY]) AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE <br /> DATE. <br />Mayor Morris opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to <br />speak. Albert Sierra stated he recommended the property be rezoned. <br />No one else wished to speak, so Mayor Morris closed the public <br />hearing. Mr. Guerra moved for adoption of the Zoning Ordinance and <br />Mr. Moore seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration a public hearing and <br />adoption of a Zoning ordinance, the caption which was read as <br />follows: <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING <br /> A 0.17 ACRE TRACT OF PROPERTY, LOCATED AT 735 MARTIN LUTHER <br /> KING DRIVE, FROM "M" (SINGLE-FAMILY, DUPLEX AND NEIGHBORHOOD <br /> BUSINESS DISTRICT) TO "R-2" (SINGLE-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT <br /> [MEDIUM DENSITY]) AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />Mayor Morris opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to <br />speak for or against the zoning amending. Albert Sierra requested <br />approval of the zoning change. Ollie Giles asked Mr. Sierra if <br />everyone who needs a home be considered, if it is equal opportunity <br />housing, and Mr. Sierra stated it is, and it will be handled "first <br />come, first served". No one else wished to speak, so Mayor Morris <br />closed the public hearing.
