City Council Meeting Minutes August 2, 2016 require any property owner or HEB to return site to its natural state should the property flood if they were to abandon the building for a period of 12 months. The motion failed by the following vote: For: 3 - Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Prewitt, Council Member Hughson and Council Member Derrick Against: 4 - Mayor Guerrero, Mayor Pro -Tem Thomaides, Council Member Prather and Council Member Gregson Motion to Amend: A motion was made by Council Member Gregson, seconded by Mayor Pro -Tem Thomaides, that Section 4 (g) of Ordinance 2016 -27 be amended as follows: strike the last sentence and change the word "may" to "shall'. The motion carried by the following vote: For: 7 - Mayor Guerrero, Mayor Pro -Tem Thomaides, Council Member Prather, Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Prewitt, Council Member Hughson, Council Member Derrick and Council Member Gregson Against: 0 Motion to Amend: A motion was made by Council Member Hughson, seconded by Council Member Prather, that Ordinance 2016 -27 be amended by amending Section 5 Building Design Guidelines to read as follows: The building design will reflect the character of San Marcos, the building's immediate natural surroundings, and the greenspace to the northwest such as Gabled hill country style with metal standing seam roof incorporating a mix of natural stone and metal versus more contemporary design . The motion carried by the following vote: For: 7 - Mayor Guerrero, Mayor Pro -Tem Thomaides, Council Member Prather, Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Prewitt, Council Member Hughson, Council Member Derrick and Council Member Gregson Against: 0 Motion to Amend: A motion was made by Council Member Hughson, seconded by Council Member Prather, that Ordinance 2016 -27 be amended by amemding Section 5 (d) (iv) by striking the words, "harmonious and compatible with adjacent development and." and "include" from the first sentence.
