<br />, <br /> <br />19 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Regular Meeting March 25, 1996 Page i <br /> <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for approval a board appointment to the Senior Citizens Task Force. <br />The Council agreed to let the Task Force continue without an AARP representative. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration a public hearing and approval of the City Council <br />Budget Policy Statement for fiscal year 1996-1997. Mayor Morris opened the pub'tic hearing. <br />Ollie Giles, President of the Neighborhood Association, stated they were pleased with the policy .--- <br />statement for 1996-1997. Ms. Giles thanked the Council for the neighborhood coordinator and <br />said Penny Keith was doing an excellent job. George VonderLippe, Neighborhood Council, <br />stated they felt much progress had been accomplished with the neighborhood coordinator. He <br />stated Ms. Keith was very professional and was working to reactivate inactive neighbors. No one <br />else wished to speak so Mayor Morris closed the public hearing. Mr. Guerra moved for approval <br />of the Budget Policy Statement for fiscal year 1996-1997 and N1r. Moore seconded the motion. <br />Mr. Hart stated in Section 1. Infrastructure Priorities #5 the word "at" be added to read <br />Centerpoint Road at IH-35 Overpass. Mr. Guerra included this revision in his motion and Mr. <br />Moore in his second. The Council then voted unanimously for approval of the policy statement. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration a public hearing and adoption of a Resolution, the <br />caption which was read as follows: <br />~ <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAl~ MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, ANŒNDING THE FUTURE LAND USE MAP OF THE MASTER PLAN OF <br />THE CITY, FROM HIGH DENSITY RESIDENTIAL TO COMMERCIAL FOR A 6.88 <br />ACRE TRACT OF PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE 1600 BLOCK OF RIVER ROAD <br />(AT THE INTERSECTION OF RIVER ROAD Ai'1D STATE HIGHWAY 80) Ai'1'D <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris opened the public hearing. David Williamson stated he was the representative for <br />Ed Longcope and would answer any questions for th~ Council. No one else wished to speak so <br />Mayor Morris closed the public hearing. Mr. Hart moved for adoption of the Resolution and Mr. '---' <br />Moore seconded the motion. On roll call the following vote was recorded: - <br /> <br />, AYE: Moore, Mooney, Hart, Guerra, Cox, Hernandez. <br /> <br />NAY: None. <br /> <br />ABSTAIN: Morris (to avoid appearance of any conflict). <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration a public hearing and adoption of a Resolution, the <br />caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAi'T MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AiVŒNDING THE FUTURE LAND USE MAP OF THE MASTER PLAN OF <br />THE CITY, FROM COJ\1MERCIAL Ai'TD NŒDIUM DENSITY RESIDENTIAL TO <br />HIGH DENSITY RESIDENTIAL FOR A 10.5 ACRE TRACT OF PROPERTY <br />LOCATED IN THE 100 BLOCK OF WEST AVENUE Ai'TD DECLARING Ai'T <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />c-- <br />Mayor Morris opened the public hearing.
