On roll call the following vote was recorded: <br />I ' <br /> <br />t AYE: Moore, Mooney, Hart, Guerra, Cox, Hernandez. <br /> <br />NAY: None. <br /> <br />ABSTAIN: Morris (to avoid appearance of any conflict). <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration a public hearing and adoption of a Zoning Ordinance, <br />the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, ANÅ’NDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING <br />A 10.5 ACRE TRACT OF PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE 100 BLOCK OF WEST <br />AVENUE FROM "C" COMMERCIAL DISTRICT TO "MFA" MUL TI-F AiYfIL Y <br />DISTRICT (HIGH DENSITY); INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; Ai'TD <br />PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris opened the public hearing. No one wished to speak so Mayor Morris closed the <br />public hearing. Mr. Cox moved for adoption of the Zoning Ordinance and Mr. Moore seconded <br />the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration a public ~earing and approval of an Ordinance on first <br />, reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINAi'TCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />, TEXAS, CHAi'TGING THE NAME OF MCKIE STREET TO LUCIANO FLORES <br />BOULEVARD FROM ITS INTERSECTION WITH THE EAST ACCESS ROAD OF <br />IH-35 NORTH TO CAPE ROAD; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris opened the public hearing. No one wished to speak so Mayor Morris closed the <br />public hearing. Mr. Mooney moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and Mr. <br />Hernandez seconded the motion. Mr. Moore stated the Council received a letter opposing the <br />street name change and asked Mr. Patterson to explain. Mr. Patterson stated all the street name <br />changes where to help implement 911 emergency calls.
