1998 Review Committee Report Pale 4 <br />ETHICS REVIEW COMMISSION <br />Reviewed by Bryan McClung and Belinda Perez <br />The Ethics Review Commission is composed of seven members. This Commission oversees the <br />application of the City's Code of Ethics concerning conflicts of interest, ethical conduct and <br />financial disclosure of city employees and officials. <br />Observations <br />This Commission is very effective in dealing with required issues and the meeting was <br />conducted in a professional manner. The members were observed to work very well with the <br />City Attorney, the Chair was very effective, and there was great interaction among commission <br />members. <br />Recommendation <br />No change <br />HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />Reviewed by: Belinda Perez and Soila Rodriguez <br />The Historic Preservation Commission is composed of seven members. This Commission <br />promotes historic integrity and approves the appropriateness of architectural changes within the <br />three existing Historic Districts. <br />Observations <br />The Historic Preservation Commission is working very efficiently and operating in a very <br />professional manner. The board responds promptly to complaints from affected citizens. The <br />members seek professional assistance and broad public participation in decision making, and the <br />staff liaison is very capable and effective. <br />Recommendation: <br />No change
