David Nall, 3007 Longhorn Blvd. #100, Austin, Texas, with Bonus Building Care, thanked the <br />City Council for the opportunity to bid and for the amount of information provided. He just • <br />wanted to introduce himself. <br />Shane Wade, 3007 Longhorn Blvd. #100, Austin, Texas, with Bonus Building Care, said they <br />have been in the Austin and San Antonio area over five years and service many accounts. They <br />have provided a good referral from a client that is much larger than the City for whom they have <br />performed the exact same services for over four years. <br />Michele Burleson, owner of American Maid, thanked the City for the opportunity to bid. They <br />are a local company and employ locally. They shop and buy all equipment locally. They live in <br />San Marcos and do business in San Marcos. She would appreciate the Council's consideration. <br />8:00 PM PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />23. Public Hearing to receive comments for and against a proposed 2009 ad valorem tax <br />rate of $0.5302 per $100 valuation. <br />At approximately 8:00 p.m. Mayor Narvaiz opened the Public Hearing <br />There being no public comments, the Public Hearing was closed at 8:01p.m. <br />24. Public Hearing to receive comments for and against a resolution approving the transfer <br />of an existing certificate of public convenience and necessity from Jason Grote d/b/a <br />Corridor Cab to William Kennon, for the provision of taxicab services in San Marcos; and <br />declaring an effective date, and consider adoption of Resolution 2009-107R <br />At approximately 8:02 p.m. Mayor Narvaiz opened the Public Hearing. <br />Jason Grote, dba Corridor Cabs, reported that the business is closing tomorrow morning. This is <br />the last piece of the puzzle. <br />William Kennon, 2020 Hilliard, San Marcos, Texas, said that he is a student at Texas State and is <br />a business major, graduating this December. He is looking forward to taking over this business <br />and wants to see people safely home with alternative transportation. He plans to make the cabs <br />recognizable, and they will be painted one color. He also plans to increase the number of cars <br />and will be open 24 hours once the business is established. <br />There being no further public comments, the Public Hearing was closed at 8:04 p.m. <br />MOTION: Upon a motion made by Councilmember Jones and a second by Councilmember <br />Couch, the City Council voted seven (7) for and none (0) opposed, to adopt Resolution 2009- <br />107R, as previously captioned.
