10. <br />Regular Meeting May 11, 1998 Page 3 <br />Ordinance and Ms. Hughson seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration a public hearing and adoption of a Zoning Ordinance, <br />the caption which was read as follows: <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANT MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING <br />A 2.3 ACRE TRACT OF PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE 1300 AND 1400 BLOCKS <br />OF UHLAND ROAD FROM "C" COMMERCIAL DISTRICT TO "MF-4" MULTI- <br />FAMILY DISTRICT (HIGH DENSITY); LNI CLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; <br />AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. <br />Mayor Moore opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. Jim Byrn stated <br />he was representing the Dobies and was available to answer any questions. He explained the <br />property is currently zoned "C" and because the road was moved they would like to change the <br />zoning to "MF-4" to be consistent with the surrounding area. There were no other speakers so <br />Mayor Moore closed the public hearing. Mr. Guerra moved for adoption of the Zoning <br />Ordinance and Mr. Mihalkanin seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration a public hearing and adoption of a Zoning Ordinance, <br />the caption which was read as follows: <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING <br />A 5.45 ACRE TRACT OF PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE 200-300 BLOCKS OF <br />STAGECOACH ROAD FROM "TH-2" TOWNHOUSE DISTRICT (MEDIUM <br />DENSITY) TO "LB" LIMITED BUSINESS DISTRICT; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL <br />PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. <br />Mayor Moore opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. Dr. Stan Ault <br />stated he was available to answer any questions. There were no other speakers so Mayor Moore <br />closed the public hearing. Mr. Guerra moved for adoption of the Zoning Ordinance and Ms. <br />Hughson seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on first reading, the caption <br />which was read as follows: <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THE CITY BUDGET ORDINANCE FOR THE 1997-98 FISCAL <br />YEAR TO PROVIDE FUNDING FOR THE TEXAS BOOK FESTIVAL AWARD <br />HEAD START PROJECT AN DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />Mr. Guerra moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and Ms. Hughson seconded the <br />motion, which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration reconsideration of three Zoning Ordinances. No one <br />wished to reconsider the Ordinances, the captions which read as follows: <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING <br />0.379 ACRE TRACT OF PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE 1300 BLOCK OF DELMAR <br />STREET FROM "R-1" SINGLE-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT (LOW DENSITY) <br />TO "DP-1" DUPLEX DISTRICT (LOW DENSITY); INCLUDING PROCEDURAL <br />PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING <br />0.115 ACRES MORE OR LESS OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT 227 KNOX STREET <br />FROM "C" COMMERCIAL DISTRICT TO "R-2" SINGLE-FAMILY DWELLING
