Mayor Moore introduced for consideration a public hearing and adoption of a Zoning Ordinance, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANT MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING A 2.3 ACRE TRACT OF PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE 1300 AND 1400 BLOCKS OF UHLAND ROAD FROM "C" COMMERCIAL DISTRICT TO "MF-4" MULTI- FAMILY DISTRICT (HIGH DENSITY); LNI CLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. Mayor Moore opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. Jim Byrn stated he was representing the Dobies and was available to answer any questions. He explained the property is currently zoned "C" and because the road was moved they would like to change the zoning to "MF-4" to be consistent with the surrounding area. There were no other speakers so Mayor Moore closed the public hearing. Mr. Guerra moved for adoption of the Zoning Ordinance and Mr. Mihalkanin seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Moore introduced for consideration a public hearing and adoption of a Zoning Ordinance, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING A 5.45 ACRE TRACT OF PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE 200-300 BLOCKS OF STAGECOACH ROAD FROM "TH-2" TOWNHOUSE DISTRICT (MEDIUM DENSITY) TO "LB" LIMITED BUSINESS DISTRICT; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. Mayor Moore opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. Dr. Stan Ault stated he was available to answer any questions. There were no other speakers so Mayor Moore closed the public hearing. Mr. Guerra moved for adoption of the Zoning Ordinance and Ms. Hughson seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Moore introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE CITY BUDGET ORDINANCE FOR THE 1997-98 FISCAL YEAR TO PROVIDE FUNDING FOR THE TEXAS BOOK FESTIVAL AWARD HEAD START PROJECT AN DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mr. Guerra moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and Ms. Hughson seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Moore introduced for consideration reconsideration of three Zoning Ordinances. No one wished to reconsider the Ordinances, the captions which read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING 0.379 ACRE TRACT OF PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE 1300 BLOCK OF DELMAR STREET FROM "R-1" SINGLE-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT (LOW DENSITY) TO "DP-1" DUPLEX DISTRICT (LOW DENSITY); INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING 0.115 ACRES MORE OR LESS OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT 227 KNOX STREET FROM "C" COMMERCIAL DISTRICT TO "R-2" SINGLE-FAMILY DWELLING
